Howdy. I have a 980-Ti that would be eligible for Step-Up if I pay $30US for the extended warranty... (I registered it 21-days after purchase instead of within 14-days.) The problem is, the EVGA website gives no indication what will be available once the Step-Up is enabled.

Is it right to assume that I'll be shelling out $PRICE_1080 - $PRICE_PAID_980 + $30 + taxes? I really don't like extended warranties in principle, but I would be willing to do it if I knew I wasn't going to get screwed by buying it and then not having the options to Step-Up to the 1080 SC Gaming ACX 3.0. Also, what is the $US for the 1080 card I listed? The website isn't responding... :/

Clarification help is appreciated.

Yes, you are correct to assume the cost (minus any rebate you received). I paid 30 for my registration procrastination, but I'd likely bought an extended regardless. Personally, I don't count the 30.00 in the cost to upgrade, as the warranty transfers.

Patience is basically our only option for the time being as we wait for the full product line to be revealed. It's tough to know that someone has all the info, but can't release it. I expect that the ComputeX event, May 31 - 4 June, will likely reveal more info on the remaining.

The SC version isn't currently part of the step-up. Generally, overclocked models are not.

Out of the three options, which is best? From what I can see, they are fairly identical other than the different cooling setups.

For single a card PC with decent airflow, the ACX is the best option.

I went with the 08G-P4-6181-KR ACX variant. Not a fan of the boxy reference cooler. Stepping up from a 980ti Classified I got in April.

Cool, I went with that as well. Luckily I purchased a 970 about almost 3 months ago which is available for setup up!

Going to replace the 980 TI in my main PC and put the 980 TI into my backup.
