Hey all!!!

Today I introduce a new design. It's a smaller version of the giant super tower I'll be giving away soon. Before I continue on the other case I wanted to make sure everything in the design would work. So, I built the smaller air version....same type of design just smaller. The top and bottom panels currently are configured to hold 140mm fans, but can be cut to hold 120mm fans plus rads. The case is designed in Google Sketchup, output as CAD DWG. files, then imported into Corel Draw for output to a laser cutter.

The top fan grill is being held on by magnetic sheet and the bottom & front grills have a nylon mesh for filtering and are held on magnetically as well.

Specs:

  • 140mm fans = 7, can be configured to hold 360 rads x 2
  • Form Factor = Mini ITX, MATX, ATX
  • HD Bays = 6
  • 5.25 bays = 3
  • PSU = 1 with an option for 2
  • Size = 11.5" wide x 18" tall x 18" deep

The renders:

The case build and where it's at today:

Bottom fan filter:

Front & Top Grills:

Next steps:

  • drill out screw holes in magnetic sheet for all the 140mm Purple fans
  • remove front panel and cut out some sort of design and have it back lit with a piece of green acrylic
  • make the front panel usb/power/reset in a 5.25 bay
  • install my current gaming rig that's currently in a Storm Scout case

Everything is fitting together as planned....  Which I am very pleased. Now I can start cutting the much larger liquid cooled case in the give away!!!

Thank you for stopping by and looking!!! More to come!!!!

G.C.

    Thanks guy's!!!

The order from Egg of eight 140mm Xigmatek purple fans arrive tomorrow. Purple and green...hopefully it will look cool when all lit up!!!

I'll be putting in my X58, 920 CO, and my good 'ole 3 way SLI 9800 GTX +'s with a 9600GT. All EVGA of course!! Perhaps I should stop spending money on acrylic and upgrade my GPU's...LOL!!!! It all runs fine for me for now!!!!

    Update time!!!

Well, I got the build almost finished. It's up and running, just waiting for some sleeved cables and sata cables (using what I had now)

I had an idea of running my H50 with 140mm fans push/pull.

I made some spacers with threaded inserts.

But, not paying attention I quickly realized the tubing was in the way of the second spacer. So, off to cutting the spacer.

    Then cutting the fan....

It worked!!! off to install the rest!!!

    All finished...for now...

    some darker shots...

Enjoy the pic's and thank you for looking!!!!

WOW! Extremely nice and awesome job! I`m jealous.

One thing that would be really cool is instead of the skull, make an EVGA logo in it or even where that design is on the side of it on the front have EVGA running down (I like that current one as well btw).

    Great job again!!!

Yes, I do all the design and cuts. I am very fortunate to have a laser cutter in my man room. Had to sell my truck to buy it though, but i'm having more fun with it than the truck!!!

    You´re very welcomed Sir!

Mine was quite reduced in size, it was measured to fit everything by the cm (790i, q6600,wc,2xgtx275,3xhdd,1xcd/dvd,x-fi tit+frontal) temps weren´t great obviously but they where ok, but this thing was rather heavy, at the end of the lan party we put it in the trolly we used to take stuff to the car, and on the way there one of the trolly wheels got stuck on a pothole and the case fell (alas from almost no height at all) but it was enough to crack the front which created a domino effect braking the whole thing (because of it being rather tight), to a normal case this would mean a scratch but to acrylic... fortunately the hardware was ok
