I'm looking for advice on a new graphics card that I have just had delivered
 
I have a Socket 1155 based Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H with an Ivy Bridge i5-3550 and 16G of Ram
 
The system boots and has been running well for a year or so with the internal graphics, and that has not changed now I have changed the case and upgraded the power supply to a Pure Power be quiet! 630W power supply in preparation for my EVGA GTX 980 ti Hybrid card
 
Have connected and plugged in the card, (I have connected the power connectors required from my new Power Supply
I hear the liquid start to move round the card and radiator
The fan plugged into the card starts to spin
I now see the BIOS flash screen of the DVI output of the card and no longer on the HDMI output on the motherboard
However it does not get any further.  If left for long enough it will change to show the included screen shot. (a small number of random letters on the screen)
 
 
Have I missed a step?

Yes I unplugged the HDMI cable, (that I use for my internal graphics), before booting and I am able to see the bios flash screen through the DP port on the EVGA.  
 
(I have tried leaving both in and I still see the BIOS flash screen on the DP port of the Evga.  
I have tried just plugging in the HDMI cable and I see nothing while the Evga 980 is installed)
 
Yes I have tried resetting the CMOS.  
 
When I do not have the Evga card in, (and HDMI is connected to the onboard HDMI), if I power on the power supply and then short the reset CMOS, I hear one beep and then get shown a menu suggesting I load optimised defaults and reboot, (or load default and boot, or enter bios)
I choose to load and reboot, it beeps once more during reboot and I am at Windows 10
 
With the Evga card in, if I do the same thing with the Evga I get the same initial beep and I see the Gigabyte splash graphic
25 seconds later I get a second beep, (the splash screen is still showing)
I get the same at 55,
at 1:25 the screen goes blank
 
Numlock continues to work on my keyboard, (nothing else does anything useful
Sometimes one of the fans speeds up or slows down a little suggesting the bios is running it's fan control routines

Unbelievably I am not and it was one of the first things I checked.  Upgrading it has let me POST.  Man I thought I was better than that.  Thanks for the help guys
