Problem with Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable

The problem I am having is
Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)
keeps downloading from windows update every time I shut down my computer,  this has happened for the last 18 times and all were successful.  One is waiting now for me to shut down.   Has anyone had this happen?  Screen shot below:

    Try to install it manually.

    Some users have had success by installing BOTH the x86 package and the x64 package.  It doesn't hurt anything to install both.

    with me its every time i download a program that requires visual c installed installs then i search for updates and there it is. i have it there about 7 times my self

    I'll give it a shot later before I shut down to see if it works.  I just didn't get it, if the downloads are successful why I need 18 of them..lol

    Turn automatic software updates off

    I would...
    - Turn Automatic Updates off and reboot
    - Uninstall all instances of Visual C++
    - Manually install Visual C++
     
    You should be able to find Visual C++ on the Microsoft download page.

    I just wanted to let you know that I tried your suggestion and downloaded both the x64 and x86 package and it worked...  This has been driving me crazy for over a week.  Thanks again
