http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=6839#95799 The challenge will begin 20 June 2016 22:34 UTC and end 25 June 2016 22:34 UTC Five days long. This is a CPU only challenge, running PPS MEGA Prime. HT off for these work units. I would keep the setting at 0.01 days work and an additional days work at 0.01 as well. You do not want to keep work on your drive waiting to be completed. DL WU, crunch it, turn it in and get another WU to crunch. Newer CPUs with AVX will work very well, watch your overclocks and your CPU temps.

Will get my 5930k setup for this. May possibly have another 48 cores to add as well. But that will depend on a few things that are yet to be determined.

Other than disabling HT and setting my OC back up I'm ready. Now just to be sure I'm reading this correctly it starts tomorrow just after 10:30 CST correct? Want to make sure I'm ready at the start. Unfortunately my additional 48 cores won't be here in time.

On the PG main page there is a count down timer and the world time clock. The count down timer goes by your computers time, and can be off. The world clock is its own time and is correct for sure. http://www.primegrid.com/

And I'm stumbling out of the starting gate. I lost power overnight to thunderstorms and didn't realize PG was set to "no new tasks" on restarting BOINC. Odd. Anyway I'm crunching away happily now.

No worries, glad to have you aboard. I am happy to get a few more points ahead of "Duke". We were trading places for the number five and six spots. We seem to be holding on to 5th now for a while!

Well I should be dropping my first units within the last 30 minutes or so. So hopefully it's enough.

I bribed your ISP to shut you down for a little while so I could pass you in the individual stats - but it looks like you got back online and are back ahead of me again.

I took a power hit last night. One leg of the 220 into my house dropped in and out. Happened pretty fast, glad I noticed it right away, half my computers were down. Very happy no damage done, just had to restart systems and set the time on an alarm clock. There were 3 primes found so far this challenge. None by our EVGA teammates yet, but we still have three days to go. Good luck

Six Mega primes have been found this past week! One was right before the start of the challenge. That is really, really good.. And it's not over yet Hope Team EVGA finds one. Since the challenge started, the leading edge has advanced 3.27% as much as it had prior to the challenge! Note: These status reports are (obviously) automatically generated. That last paragraph that shows the increase in "n" (or "b" or "k", as appropriate) isn't always as meaningful for PPS-MEGA as it is for other sub-projects. For PPS-MEGA, we have been running "n" up to 3599999 and then dropping it back down with a new set of "k"s to keep the size close to one million digits. Tracking the progress by looking at the size of "n" isn't very meaningful. What is very meaningful, however, is the fact that we're doing about 10 times the normal number of PPS-MEGA and that we've found five -- FIVE!!! -- primes so far during the challenge. I would have been thrilled if we found one during the challenge. Five is incredible. Just under 5 hours left in this challenge. We have a good hold on 5th place.
Another mega prime found! That's the 7th PPS-MEGA prime this week, which sets a new record for the number of mega primes found in any single month. It is: The sixth PPS-MEGA prime of the challenge The seventh mega prime and PPS-MEGA prime this week (almost certainly a record) The seventh mega prime and PPS-MEGA prime of the month (new record) The 15th PPS-MEGA prime of the year (most mega primes of a single type in any year) The 25th mega prime of 2016 (the record is 29 primes in 2014, and this year isn't even half over)
