5.3.10 installed okay on my Win 10 x64, but still doesn't retain custom fan profile for SLI configuration once Precision X is closed - have to keep resetting my custom profile unless I never reboot or close Precision X.

Have re-installed 5.3.8 for the time being.

Updated from 5.3.8 to 5.3.10, fan profile is gone and can not set curve, cards hit 65C! we appreciate the constant updates and fixes but not when they mess with things as important as fan settings... its broken guys.

It's obvious that biggest problem of Precision X is conflict with some application and than happen different kind of problems.
EVGA need to continue to improve software and reduce influence on different applications.
With last two version I didn't had crashes any more on end of level in some games during load second but sometimes I lose control on mouse and I see cursor in during game. Than when I Esc in game menu and click on resume control back. It's not often but if someone use software without problems and install Precision X suddenly problems start. It's obvious that Precision X could cause even fps drops if applications behave like that when OSD is enabled.
From other side 4.2.1 version and Precision X work and no problem with any application.

Confirmed as well!  I have avoided 5.3.9 and 5.3.10.  The SLI fan profiles are separated in in those versions and the second cards fans do not spin up.

For those with the secondary card SLI fan issue, I am not able to reproduce this here. Is it when you set a manual fanspeed the secondary card will not set the speed as well?

I'm currently back to using 5.3.8 but my experience with 5.3.9, 5.3.9.1, and 5.3.10 were slightly different than the other posts in the thread.

All three newer Precision X versions installed without problems. All three required that both primary and secondary SLI cards needed to specify separate fan profiles with the "enable automatic fan control" checkboxes checked for both separate custom fan profiles. The fans for both cards in SLI mode spun up as set in the custom fan profiles and worked as expected.

EDIT: After setting the custom fan profile for the first card, I then used the Precision X front panel GPU SELECT in the lower right-hand corner to switch to the second card. I was then able to set the custom fan profile for the second card.

The problem was that if I closed Precision X or if I rebooted the system, the custom fan profiles for both cards were lost and I would have to start all over again to specify a custom fan profile for both cards.

This problem does not occur in 5.3.8 - I only need specify a single custom fan profile and 5.3.8 will control both cards' fans in SLI mode and remember this custom setting if Precision X is closed or Windows is restarted.

I do start up Precision X manually in administrator mode in my normal Windows 10 user account (not as admin).

Guys im encountering a problem here, I installed 5.3.10 and then entered a game to see if it was functioning properly and when I went into the game the cards gpu clock gpu temp and voltage dont increase at all they are staying around 823mhz 950mv voltage and a temp of 35 degrees, all of which I know are incorrect because prior to using 5.3.10 the values would be around 1130mhz 1200mv voltage and between 50 and 75 degrees for temp, I am afraid to run anything atm because I dont want my card to cook itself.

Edit: I have tried going back to both 5.3.9 and 5.3.8 and I am now getting the same issue with both of those versions of precisionx
Edit 2: I have removed all evga precision x items from my system and reinstalled 5.3.8 I am also attempting to use the fan curve to make a cooling profile and while the fan curve stays and saves it will not update at all when any strain is put on the card.
Edit 3: I noticed that occasionally during the start up sequece of some programs that precision x will show around 1100mhz and 1150mv on its screen for a fraction of a second before going back to the 823mhz and 950mv

oh btw running a evga gtx 770 sc

Hope someone knows whats going on here.

    Please Help!
    Thanks in advance.

This is what I am running into as well with SLI.  Needing to set separate fan curves.  I never had to do that before.  When I do set the curves and reboot the system, it seems like only one of the cards fans spin up according to its curve.  If I open Precision and then click on the card in the list that was not spinning, the fans kicked in according to the curve.  I can't say that it forgot the curves entirely like the poster above me, but yes, there is definitely an issue when it comes to SLI and fan control in 5.3.9, 5.3.9.1 and 5.3.10.

The ONLY advantage I can see with the two card (or more) not having the fans linked I'd the reduction of noise having the lower card runner lower fan speeds. You still control over clocks the same, but the fans set separately would make the system slightly quieter.

I can understand wanting them to be an easy set and forget though. Hopefully they can fix that pretty quick for you guys.

Have you guys been able to reproduce the issue?  Do you need any more information from us SLI users?

I solved this problem by doing this: I select the gpu 1, set the fan curve and pressed the "OK" button. Then, I select the gpu 2, set the fan curve and pressed the "OK" button again. In this way, the profile is saved and not unconfigures. (the cards are not linked).

The only problem I have is that playing Guild Wars 2, the game freezes for a second and the fans go into IDLE mode.

Precision X works with any Nvidia gpu, but will not work with AMD/ATI gpu's. Was that your question?

Yes, I can set both cards separately no problem.  The main issue is the fan profile doesn't seem to kick in on the second card when you reboot.  I own cards where the default profile has the fans OFF up until 60C.  Say for example I set curves that have them on always at 10 percent speed.  Reboot my PC and only one cards fans will spin up to 10 percent.  I assume the other card is using its default profile or something.

Yes, the two fan profiles still saved after doing that, or rebotting the system.

Thanks for your reply and info. Apparently, different behavior from 5.3.10 on different systems.

Hi guys, got a very annpying issue here. I can only set the pixel clock higher than default when my second screen is turned off.  In dual monitor mode windows 10x64 the evga tool just switches back to 60 hz. It doesnt store the 80hz setting. Only in single mo itor mode.  Any suggestions?

I will like to have the frame target rate to be set to 144. The frame target max are 120 max.

    Hi everyone,

I installed a Titan X today.  Is it normal behavior for Precision X 16 to be unresponsive and incredibly laggy when a game is running?  I can barely drag it around the screen or actually use the software when a game is running.

With my old Titan I stuck with 4.2.1 because of this issue, but not sure what to use now.

Use 4.2.1. It should still work, it just won't have some of the newer features that are built in is all.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply Scarlet-Tech.

I tried Afterburner and it seems to be working well.  They must be laughing over at MSI.  So much free advertising to their competitor's customers.

Hopefully in the future Precision will become usable for me.

It happens. EVGA has been making precision for a year and a half now.

The person, Unwinder, that makes afterburner previously made precision prior to 5.0.0.

4.2.1 was his last version of precision. You have to imagine, when you write a program for many years, you get an advantage over the person writing it from absolute scratch. I guarantee afterburner wasn't perfect from the start or it would still be on revision 1.0.

Precision had a lot of revisions before Unwinder stopped making it, so that shows there was always room for improvement.

Both this and my previous version which I think was 5.3.9 or 8 not sure no longer limit frame rates in Warframe.  I get the feeling that it's the game, though this didn't happen upon a single update(to either version).  I hope it gets fixed as I prefer to limit my FPS and keep my GPU(GTX770 SC ACX) from going overdrive for frames I won't see...and of course prefer not to turn vsync on.  I also use it to keep temps down, and in turn my PC quiet.

Edit: Scratch that, FPS limiting doesn't work in Grid Autosport either...so I'm thinking it may be all games.
