Ebola from WCG Not a badge but found my 5th prime number in primegrid. Still so darn cold outside. It's been -0F a few times with wind-chills -25F. The computers are doing a fair job of heating the house. My Mustang is under cover under 3ft of snow. Can't wait to get it out for some seat time and go to some car shows/cruise ins. What a long cold snowy winter it has been..

Bill, It is 37 and dropping here in Jacksonville. We are bracing for a hard freeze. You must think that's pretty funny but it does not get that cold here. I am wearing layers and a wool cap as the heat can't keep up. I am a Florida native and it has snowed here 4 or 5 times in my lifetime - we worry more about the pipes breaking. You finally got the elusive ebola badge - well done! Stay warm rs

My uncle lived in Jacksonville, my son and a few other family members live in the Tampa/Clearwater area. My daughter is up in Buffalo NY, it's worse up there than here. It's a heatwave here vs there. brrrrrrrr I feel for the poor folks in Boston, they are getting hit hard this year. I have seen Winters here in NY with near 100in of snow in the season. No fun at all. Not often, {thank God} just the older I get the less I like Winter Well keep warm, I would love to see 37F LOL I don't think it has been above freezing in quite some time.

We start at 25F on Friday Night to 7F on Sunday and maybe a foot of snow here in the Denver Metro. Time to crank up some more CPU's for PRIMEGRID and maybe even some GPU's. Night we will be below 20F all week.

I knew I did not have a dog in this fight! But I agree Boston has had a hammerfest, snowpocalypse - you get the idea. Funny thing is just a few days ago it was 78 and sunny here. Have to agree with BC, "Time to crank up some more CPU's for PRIMEGRID and maybe even some GPU's. Night we will be below 20F all week." Reminds me of folding with the 9800 GTX+s - those would blow fire! rs

The Green Machine How well are they doing, I am kind of down on mine and never got a chance to run mine. Did they complete in less than 100 Hours?
Sorry for the late response, but by the time of posting, the 980's had not yet began crunch the Genefer's. Now they have a couple of hours, enough to read a fairly estimate. For those who have not ran any PrimeGrid Genefers, a small update. There are two types of Genefer's, one small, and one big one. The small one, GFN-Short, can be ran on both CPU or GPU. Recent average CPU time according to PrimeGrid 119:23 hrs. GPU time 13:06 Then there is the Genefer I run. The Genefer World Record GFN-WR. This is a "Big Guy" and can only be ran trough GPU. Recent average GPU time according to PrimeGrid is 128:12 hrs. The concept for this is that if you find a prime number trough this search, it's gonna be FrontPage stuff. They beleive they may hide some of the worlds biggest prime numbers so, this is a hunt for the biggest Fish in the pond. So, for what it takes... I have served this WU's to a small variety of GPU's. None are done yet, so I'll just give you the estimates. My BOINC Version is 7.4.36 (x64) so the estimates should be fairly accurate. First the EVGA 980SC: #1. Elapsed 12:12hrs Time remaining 76:10hrs #2. Elapsed 12:08hrs Time remaining 76:27hrs Plain GTX760 #1. Elapsed 23:13hrs Time remaining 131:00 #2. Elapsed 23:13hrs Time remaining 115:00 GTX660Ti Elapsed 23:58hrs Time remaining 113:00 EVGA 780Ti SC Elapsed 23:58hrs Time remaining 30:52 EVGA 780Ti KPE (Kingpin Edition) Elapsed 11:30hrs Time remaining 60hrs. I had some problems With the Kingpin's. The GFN-WR is very sensitive to overclocking, and they kept returning the GFN's With errors. I reconed it was due to the Stock OC, so I reduced the Power target via Precision X to 85%. After this, the remaining GFN seemed to stick. I'll let it be for a little while before I engage the second Kingpin. And for those who Wonder, the GFN-WR grant 50% long job bonus, so if you finish a GFN-WR they pay prox 650K. Crunch On
