Change your Ribbon to the Beta Version and it will show what each Badge is for other then then User Of The Day I see you have one now.


The feather is from Wildlife@Home.  They have two parts to their project.  One is the normal Boinc tasks although I have yet to see any available.  The other part is watching videos on the project website.  You watch videos of nesting birds and record various events that occur.  Each event you note needs to be validated, much like Boinc tasks and if you did your job right you receive credit for that particular video.  The gold feather is for watching 24 hours worth of videos.
 
As for the User of the Day badge, I have no idea when I received that or from which project.  It just appeared one day.

I see what you mean, but...
Hmm.. 70 Galaxies only.... One of my former hobbies was astronomy, and I have a faint idea on how big one Galaxy is.
It is as far as Beyond imagination bigger than huge, so.. ha ha.
Did you know... Everyone agrees on this.. If you want to get somwhere in Our Space, you had to travel With the speed of light yes?
For the record, speed of light is 300.000Km pr second, or, 1080mil Km/H,and for you who have not switched over to metric values, it should be like 671mil mp/h. Get it? We agree this is pritty fast yes? (Even faster than Bill's truck, and even if his tires got a grip lol)
Now, it happens, you do have a Space ship that would do this speed. so, full throttle... or....
Problem is... G force.
Our physical body has some basic limitations, darn....
So, you fire up this fast Space ship, heading for some distance Galaxy. Preferrable one of the Close ones you have already processed. Just to take a look see around the neighbourhood.
Problem is, when putting the pedal Down on this vessel, you begin to feel Dizzy. Yes, Your body cannot take more than 9g's over a period, and that's 88m pr sec.
If some Math up this numbers, you will probably find that at full throttle, you would die from age before reaching such speeds.
Perhaps "some" decided we are not suitable to visit other galaxies?
 
So RHMash... be happy for the 70 galaxies you have reached so far

I figured without the mass of the earth then you really wouldnt have the g-forces acting on your body? that is until you find something with enough mass to use to stop. But I'm am a carpenter not a physics expert by any means, i am likely way mistaken.

A little off topic for this post, but it's a teachable moment.
I'm not expert either, but I do dabble in astronomy.  Newton's first law of motion says:  "An object in motion (or at rest) will remain in motion (or at rest) unless acted on by an external force."  This force can come from various sources, gravity being one, Darth Vader being another.  Earth's gravity of approximately 9.8 m/s² = 1 g.  But the Earth, or any other large mass, does not need to be present to experience this effect.  Imagine yourself floating through deep space with a rocket engine strapped to your feet.  If this engine accelerates you at 9.8 m/s² you will feel the same as if you were standing on the surface of the Earth.  At 9g you would be accelerating at 88.2 m/s², but a 200 lbs. man would feel like he weights 1800 lbs.  Ouch!   So any acceleration, deceleration, or change in direction and you are experiencing some amount of g-force.  A little is good, a lot for short amounts of time is okay, a lot for an extended period of time and things start breaking or coming apart.  So until someone invents a Star Trek style inertial dampener, humans will pretty much be stuck in this solar system.
 
A couple of interesting facts I found online:
The Saturn moon rockets allowed the astronauts to reach a maximum of about 4 g's (or 39.2 m/s²) during lift off, right before separation.
Back in the 70's, a Formula1 race car traveling at 108 mph crashes and stops in about two feet.  The driver was said to have experienced a force of about 180g and lived to race again, after several months in the hospital.
