I think there was a post in the FM forums that someone posted over here somewhere.  How they figured that out I have no idea.

Don't you guys see screen flickering like this? I was able to do the same with an SLI Enhancement patch, but couldn't find a workaround for the flickering.

Great news Everyone!  All your claims of bottlenecking are now void, and here is the proof.  Check out post number 6.

My system
Q9450 @ 3.6, gtx 580 @ 900/1800/4300, score of P6120

This is proof vantage was WAY to CPU heavy.  As you can see an i7 clocked at 3.611 (according to his vantage run he claims 3.8) with a 580 SC, gets P6201.

Comparison of my score to his.  Look I have higher frame rates.  The CPU is what causes the score difference.  http://3dmark.com/compare/3dm11/5165/3dm11/85931, as you can see in the graphics test I actually beat that system in FPS.  In the combined test, i lost by about 20%, that is what the standard speed difference for straight CPU calculations is clock for clock from the 775 to the i7s.  As you can see my 775 socket processor can uphold this 580 and unleash what it can do.

Re:Post Your 3DMark 11 Scores! 2010/12/09 10:09:57 (permalink)
Hi . I'm new to some degree with this benchmarking stuff. I do not have a clue on how to overclock.  Hell I don't even know how to post a sig with my system specs like you guys. If you feel like explaining how to impliment a sig to show what hardware I have then thx in advance.

Nonethless here is my score http://3dmark.com/3dm11/89573. Is this a decent score for what CPU and Vid Card I'm using? Here are my parts :

PC Power & Cooling 750  /  Q9650 Cpu  /  GTX 580  /  Asus P5K3 Deluxe WiFi  /  Seagate 500 Gig  / 4 Gigs Super Talent ddr3 Performance (pc 12800 (1600mhz)  /  SB Fatality Gamer Pro  /  Thermalright Ultima-90 Cpu Cooler  /w 120 mm S-Flex (3P BB) attached & another 120mm s-Flex on back for push pull method.

As you can see I built this machine back in 2007 and only upgraded with video card and cpu and ram. It ran at 18 degrees C  idle.  I think I could get more out of this machine until Sandybridge's performace cpu's come in june/july. I just dont know how to set up ****  in my bios.

Anyways considering my hardware ,  is my score of 5291 legit or terrible? Thanks in advance.

So anyone have more than 1 580 and have installed 3Dmark11, not done nvidia inspector change or any other changes. Then run vantage and have any issues?
I do. Have to apply nvidiainspector changes for vantage to run correctly (a little slower to)
Right now I am thinking 3Dmark11 is doing something, don't know what though. Going to uninstall and see if anything changes.
I only ask because I just spent a lot of time trouble shooting why my 580's work 1 at a time fine with vantage but not in SLI.

I cant check for you right now but i noticed that the new settings in Nvidia Inpector did not change when i told it to restore the defualt settings.  Meaning the new settings are or were stuck.

awalleyeguy

So anyone have more than 1 580 and have installed 3Dmark11, not done nvidia inspector change or any other changes. Then run vantage and have any issues?
I do. Have to apply nvidiainspector changes for vantage to run correctly (a little slower to)
Right now I am thinking 3Dmark11 is doing something, don't know what though. Going to uninstall and see if anything changes.
I only ask because I just spent a lot of time trouble shooting why my 580's work 1 at a time fine with vantage but not in SLI.

There was a thread on that, awalleye.  Here  The fix is what you may have already done with nvidia inspector.

the better fix is to use is the 265.90 drivers / inf trick...seems more people have better results that way...(speculation of course)

Quit jumping on examples as if they are topics. A favorite forum mistake.
