3dmarke xperience, demo mode, or benchmark mode? also, this caused my card to crash with the exact same crash style as WoW caused it when enabling dx11 rendering path in that game. it looks like a bunhc of $ symbols on the screen and the driver fails. would lock up my system if i don't alt-tab in time. edit; my card is at stock clocks, btw, gtx 580.

After trying some benching clocks, I managed to kill my old score: P5411 Has anyone else noticed that 3DMark 11 seems to be much more forgiving with higher clock speeds than Vantage? I was able to get through the tests with a much higher overclock than I ever could with Vantage.

boredgunner Nahte27 _Nite_ boredgunner _Nite_ Tweaked Single GTX470 with GTX260 for Physx. More then likely a GTX 470 is what I will be getting and I have a GTX 260 now so that would be my score as well. What? No no no. You must get a GTX 570. I wish I could but the 570 is out of my price range at $350 - $400 (even with my $100 evga bucks applied) and would only drop it $250 - $300. The GTX 470 is $250 so I can get it for $150 after the evga bucks is applied to it. It's a much better value for me and I still get a card with a decent ammount of video ram at 1.28GB and double the performance of my current card GTX 260 to GTX 470 will be a nice upgrade for me. If I got the 570 I would have to wait for a price drop or build up my evga bucks some more delaying my upgrade even longer. =/ From what I saw at Hardware Canucks the the 570 is really on par with the 480, and therefore priced accordingly. It's a great card, but I don't think it should really be directly compared to the 470. It's performance and price are higher, so it's in a higher category altogether. Here's my score with a 470: P4636 I wasn't really going for higher clocks or anything. This was just at my normal "gaming" speeds. The GTX 570's price is higher because it just came out and because the GTX 470 is on its way to EOL. MSRP is the same as the GTX 470, just like the GTX 580 shared the same MSRP as the GTX 480. The 570 is the refresh for the 470. well if the 470 goes end of the line before I can get one in time, I will have to get a 1GB GTX 560 then. which will probably be around $250 at launch just like the 1GB GTX 460 was. the 560 will probably be equal to the 470 in performance with 280MB less video ram, which won't be so bad either. you did mention somewhere that most games don't even go over 1GB at 1920x1080 with texture mods on your 480 anyway right? Crysis and Stalker were the only acceptions I think.

In Vantage the most I could run with my GTX 480 at 1138 mV was 888/1776/2000 and still get a few artifacts in New Calico. I just did a run in 3DMark 11 at 900/1800/2000 and not a single artifact. Gonna push it some more... P6038

yes same with my crash. nvidia driver would fail to respond, recover, but the benchmark wanted to still continue. but the $ symbol artifacts all over the screen is what got be worried. but since the same thing happens in WoW under it's DX11 render path i assume it is a driver issue. heaven benchmark dx11 never crashed.

I had no artifacting, and when I run the benchmark in Performance mode with a milder OC, it runs fine. It is only in Extreme mode that I had this particular error.

Yeah, noticed it was more forgiving, for me the suicide run is the 875Mhz @ 1.087 and I managed to complete the test. Think it has something to do with how long the bench is?
