I like the looks of what they are doing with the front end on this car (there are two different Mustangs in this vid, but you will know which one I'm talking about). Love, love the sound coming out of the GT350 too, now that's how a Mustang should sound. Ford is going to have to pay more attention to the rear of the car if this is supposed to compete with the Z/28.

With how weak the recent "Track Pack's" have been, I would believe this is more targeted words the 1LE's stomping ground.  It could be a direct replacement to their short lived "Boss," which was a failure for the most part.  After all, the new IRS equipped with these cars is almost as sloppy and ill-mannered as the solid rear that they just did away with...  Not to mention it looks like an Accord.  The next generation Camaro is supposedly going to sit about 250lbs lighter, bringing it back down to a 3,500 car (just above 4th generation weight) with a much better behaved suspension.

Shot at the 1LE? Only problem with that is the Mustang Track Pack GT has a higher price tag then the Camaro 1LE.

From the video above, the Mustang looks as sounds stinking fast. They have to be shooting higher then the 1LE to me.

Like you said though, the 2016 Camaro is right around the corner and that could/will be a game changer in this battle.

    BTW: Welcome to the forums.

I priced out a Camaro 2SS 1LE with more goodies then the Motor Trend car and still stayed under the Mustang Track Pack GT price.

Yeah, that was a screenshot from the Motor Trend video.  The Camaro beat it up pretty bad even while being the previous years model.  I am really not at all impressed by this new Mustang at all, the gains do not outweigh the cost of their changes.  The previous generation Mustang not only looks better, but it performs almost the same for much less.

I still look forward to stomping them into the dirt nonetheless! :D

    And thanks!!

Not only does it look European, but now it sounds European with that flat-plane V8.  Ford did away with the throaty garble of the traditional sounding American V8, maybe this car will not fail as hard as the Boss did.

I actually like the sound of the exhaust in the video I posted. Sounds much better then these two Mustangs exhaust sounding like Elephants making noise.

I personally don't think any of the newer gen Mustangs really sound that good, there was something about the snarl that the 4v 4.6L's had with a Bassani X-pipe and Borla Stingers.

Yeah I have a buddy with a 07 or 08 GT 4.6L V8 with exhaust mods and it sounds like a beast. I'm not a fan of the 2015 Mustang in any way shape or form, well maybe the IRS, but this GT350 sure looks promising.

I can't wait to see the 2016 Camaro though. Hope it follows this speculated design.

If re-watching this video, I see what you're saying about the tune of the flat-plane V8 engine in the Mustang. It doesn't have that throaty sound like the 2016 Camaro.

I'm sure it is, but it won't be a track car like the GT350, it'll be a drag strip monster.

Ford needs to fix the IRS in the new cars....it is too mushy and wheel hops like crazy! I was hoping the new IRS would be done properly but it has not been. I went for a ride in a 2015 GT and my Lord I have no idea how Ford released this rear end. Very sad. At least they get a whole year to work on it before they release the 2016. Great interior, engine is fantastic, amazing manual trans, but the rear end is a mess, and the track pack is lackluster for the price. Camaro SS 1LE hands down. I hope the GT350 sorts out the suspension.

Side and rear view do nothing for me, the front end looks better. As far as the exhaust sound, the car is indoors, of course is going to sound louder.

I never thought I would see the above sitting in an American V8.

My guess is this new 5.2L V8 comes in right around 520hp.  I was stoke to see the Alcantara on the seats and steering wheel as well.  I hope the new magnetic ride control and other mods brings the handling of this car to where it needs to be.  Lasts I hope they put the whole thing on a diet and cut at least 150 lbs. from the curb weight.

I'm loving the sound of the new V8.  For those that miss the old classic V8 sound, it won't be possible with the new engine design......then again you won't see a N/A cross plane V8 come from the factory with near 100hp/litre of displacement either.

I think it sounds like bhole...  Now it not only looks like bhole, but it sounds like bhole too.  Maybe it has 550hp, but what, maybe 380lb-ft?  This thing is going to fall flat on its face coming out of turns against its competition, especially on quick, sharp apexes.

When the 5.0 came back in 2011, after 2-3 months of the release, you could not go a day without driving past one.  I have seen just one of these new 2016's, and it's some young kid at my campus who has that "Mommy/Daddy" money.  I would not be surprised to see this generation cost Ford money.

I would take that over any new Mustang any day. They sure don't make them like they used to.

No, they build em much better. And thank goodness for that.

I would not be surprised to see this generation cost Ford money.I

Why exactly do you think it will fall flat on it's face. Torque numbers as well as final hp numbers are not available yet, but if the car has 520hp and "only" 380lb-ft of torque then that would be a major improvement over the current 425hp and 400lb-ft. The added power and increased throttle response will far outweigh any loss of torque.

Can Ford get the rear end under control? Yes I see they have incorporated a sophisticated suspension, but in the op video I see the rear end getting away at points.

I sure hope so.  The new GT I drove was terrible at launching.....the wheel hop was unreal!!  I mean I LOVE Mustangs......and sure my bias towards them comes out A LOT.....but the wheel hop is a big issue when launching IMO.  I mean I had the sales guy in the car with me so I wasn't pinning the tach and dumping the clutch.  I first launched it from say 3,600 rpm and let out the clutch a bit aggressively but nowhere near dumping it....and it was chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp as the rear tires were hopping under load.  It did it another 3-4 times during the drive.  Once under way the rear is very planted and cornering on the street at speed was better than any stock Mustang GT I have ever driven.  It ate up the bumps on our roads here quite nicely too.  I hope it is a bushing/dampening issue and that they can easily massage it out and that it isn't a total geometry issue with the rear.

Actually in the OP video I thought the rear looked really planted.  Aside from when it was coming out of the corners with lots of throttle.....I mean 500+ horsepower to the rear wheels is going to always make power oversteer a happy possibility.
