Yea man I had some trouble with my rig. I changed out the rad on my cpu loop and was getting good temps.......all of a sudden I was getting temps at like 60 at idle!!!! Anyhow, I remounted my block everything was good. Yhen I started getting BSOD!!! code c9 or something like that. Looked up the codes and it was QPI/VTT increase or vcore increase. I had been running on the same voltages before I started seeing this.

I could not get into windows at all. Entered safe mode and uninstalled about 6 windows updates. Now everything is working like a champ!

I really wish I had a CPU cooler (just sold an H50 cuz I am downsizing/raising money so my wife can buy "stuff" for the house) so I could push this cpu more!!!! I will be adding a GTS 450 tomorrow to my main rig. Posssibly an 8800 GS (this card is gonna win the challenge for us!!!). Damn these Coronas have me feeling good right now

Hey man thanks for your offer!!!! thank you for putting out that PPD. Everything helps. I just wish electricity wasn't so darn expensive here in Southern California!!!!

Anyhow here is my PPD. I won't be running both rigs the whole time, but will be trying my best to run at least on. Since I was late on starting, I am trying to make up for my lost time!

got my PC going full blast, put a nice chunk of points in so far too

do have one issue though, im at college now, the PC can stay on all the time except for break, my break starts tomorrow and will last till the next sunday. after that my PC will be back online for the rest of the month

i know!!!!! i wish i could keep it on, i do have a person that could watch over it but the res hall people wont let me :(

option 1, leave it on and put some masking tape on the cord at the base with the note "DO NOT UNPLUG, THANKS"

option 2, whoever it was who you would have check in on it, wait until the day after break when they go through and check all the rooms, have him fire it up and nobody should notice.

Option 3, leave rig with "person who would check on it" and let them check on it from their living room.

most dorms only check once.

It seems we're finally approaching our projected total PPD, but we still have a lot of catching up to do. Now once those final two members start up their rigs, we may still have a chance of getting into the top 4.....
Just saw that we dropped into last place.... However, differences are small and we still have time! Fold on!

And now were back in 7th place!

When I get back into the office, we have a few i5 pc's that need burn in testing that I can toss on the rack for a few days, but I can't promise anything beyond a single WU per machine.  HIGH turnover rate of hardware these days as we're prepping the company for eventual Win 7 rollout.

I'd LOVE to get in on the servers, tho . . . I think they need to add another 50 blades to the overall collective before we're up to spec for the Smart Metering system that's already live.

Either or, Fold on, my Pimps!  We'll lay the almighty SMACK down on the non-believers!

Ok, folks, gotta put this to the team, as I may be your captain, I'm NOT a dictator.

troy8d is looking for the captains to vote on the scoring system that was introduced last night (to bring contest points back into a closer alignment with what was stated at signup).

There are 17 of us in the team, and I want to hear from you all - Keep it as it stands now, with the penalty being assessed to those who are grossly over producing (with taking picking up the slack for other folders into consideration) or go back to the flat points system?

Myself, I've stated several times I'm in favor of the penalty system and fully expect to be thrown under it if I gain the ability to out produce my stated levels.

I'll take your opinions into consideration when it's time for the team captains to vote.

I think it would be fine to multiply you're expected ppd x days you have to fold, then subtract that from the total you actually did then penalize the excess over folding at the end of the rounds.

That way people that put like 5-10k ppd at signup, and are folding like 75k ppd, can't offset the system, or people who acre currently way under their registered ppd, or people like me who couldn't start on time due to cirmcumstances can over fold and catch up without penalty and hurting the team.

I am for what troy posted yesterday.I think it will help us.Right now we are 3 ppl down and trying to make up for them and just do not have the fire power to make it up.But after we get the 3 folding that are down we can push tell we hit the penalty wall and get back in this.
Drougnor any word from 2 with no points ?

I'm currently running more systems than I expected to, because I'm trying to compensate for the currently inactive members. I'd be happy to drop down to the estimated level. I would also be fine with a penalty system.

My thoughts and opinions... already typed out for me

I hope that our make-up points don't come back to hurt us later since the proposed penalty system is over the whole duration.  There should be some factor given for these special cases... Like don't penalize us unless we stay at this production level AFTER the geese come back to the pond...

troy8d built that into the system, actually.  Because of the way he set it up, he can make adjustments on the fly to account for if we're making up a difference, or if we're going above and beyond in an abusive manner.  I don't fully understand the math behind it, but seeing it in practice, it's a freaking brilliant and elegant solution for what could be a very difficult problem.

Ya, that's cool.  Right now it seems buggy because it keeps flopping me (and Carlitos) between our actual points and some SBI-looking number.  Hopefully it's just a bug.

Drougnor and I already PM'd earlier today, but I also post it here... I'm in favor of the penalty system.

I've worked with Troy yesterday and we are also testing today.
After Troy asked me yesterday if we should use the new points system, I agreed to use it.

This is because we are currently very close to our Team's Projected PPD and I've just suggested to Troy to allow the Teams to exceed their Projected PPD with 10%, before the penalty system is activated.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I have not heard anything back from lightbored yet.

There needs to be some kind of sliding scale for lower placed teams. There is no way to make up 300 to 500 points other wise. But I will wait and see what Troy comes up with. Troy did post something about it.
out of Troys post

it appears your team is hovering right around the line of +/- production as a team.  A better implementation would be to have a scalar penalty relative to the position of your team rather than a hard and fast cut off.
  • With this in mind, I think that if the systems is used, this would be an essential element.
  • This would also better reflect the magnitude a single individual's efforts has in making team scores uncompetitive.

But no mater what way it ends up being FOLD ON we still got to make that 700 mil.

I will probably back down a bit before the boss complains about the bill... this added hardware doesn't make up for the missing teammates due to the adjustment.  After further understanding it does not appear the extra is hurtful to our team, just give us a false sense of comptetiveness.

I will probably back down a bit because it's actually hurting us when we flip flop past the line.

I would back down tell I found a sweet spot.We do have 1 more coming online sometime tonight. Looks like we are right on that +/- line
