That's my doubt: what if I overclock a 980 Ti Hybrid leaving the fan to auto?
I'm afraid that PCB fan speed will run not fast according to CPU temp, that is 40-45°, so VRMs will not be cooled enough...
Am I right?

You should create a custom fan profile using either PrecisionX or MSI Afterburner for the best results.

I have tested the hybrids extensively, 980, 980TI and TitanX.  When clocking the GPU the hybrid block itself will handle that, however since natively the blower fan is tied to GPU temp it will not ramp up much, which does limit the upper end of overclocking with everything at Auto.  manually crank up the fan or use a fan profile.  You will need to do some benches at stock and with a mild/moderate overclock on the GPU to see where yours sits at under load.  For the one here at my test bench, I had a sliding scale from 30-35-40-45c bringing the fan RPM from 40%-60%-80%-100% at those speeds that way the VRM was being cooled well, it did allow me more headroom on my overclocking.

That's exactly what I meant! Many thanks! As the blowing fan is quite noisy when set at more than 70%, I'm thinking on investigating on the curve fan of vanillas card, and adapt it to the hybrid block  CPU temps. This should be enough quiet and performing.
I permit myself to say that a bios with a corrected-to-new-cooler fan curve should have been more safe for VRMs...

EDIT: the 3 trigger points for vanillas are (around) 60°, 80°, 90° for 30%, 50%, 100% fan; I'd say I'll check the same percentage on the half of the temperatures (as hybrid block max temp is no more than 45°).
EDIT 2: I realized that's the same suggested from DaveB... :-D
