Shanta Holditch told WZVN that the suspect pulled the deputy out of his car and "just kept beating him and beating him ... throwing him to the ground and punching him in all different directions."
At that point, WINK reported, another driver got out of his car and ran to the scene. He told the suspect that he'd shoot him if he didn't stop beating the deputy.
"[He] refused to get off the officer and the officer kept yelling, 'shoot him, shoot him, shoot him,' Holditch said.
When the suspect didn't stop his attack, the third man shot him three times. The deputy was not hit. The suspect later died.
Good guy with a gun saves officers life.

We got to be careful with this, I know exactly where this thread is going. I agree with pretty much of all of you in what is being said, and what is about to be said from others in the next 20 posts. I'm pretty certain where most of your guys' views are (and I agree with them), and I think we're all on the same page as far as what's going on right now. Especially you Nereus, I know where your view points are, and I agree with you! All we can really do is ignore it all right now. I did have a "plan B" but that is to be said some other time, not on here.

 yeah perhaps my response was somewhat inflammatory, but the current situation is what it is, like it or not. You can call a pencil sharpener a manually operated milling device for precision shaping of 5 mm dowels, but it's still just a pencil sharpener.

They have been using the term racist, misogynist, bigot so much lately that its just becoming a generic insult. People are desensitized to it and sick of it. Its gotten to the point where if a shooting or something occurs and people blame it on racism or whatever, people just stop caring. I agree that people should have rights and whatnot but this whole PC era is going to implode on itself.

FYI, the officer authorize the bystander to shoot the person assaulting him and the bystander warned the criminal 3 times, so in the end, he is considered the hero whether people like it or not. Is it bad to shoot and kill people? nope when it is self defense or protecting someone's life Is it good to beat an officer or any human being? nope, they are laws put in place for a reason

I'm pretty sure he was just shooting to stop the guy. Trying to go for a non lethal shot while 2 people are in a scuffle isn't like playing COD. He could have easily hit the officer.
