Hey all, first time posting here, so I apologize if this was done incorrectly. Elephant in the room: I know and have read a number of different threads on this very question, but the consensus seems to be muddled, and I have a couple of extras on this build that worry me about having a sufficient power supply. Here are the specs, and I apologize if some of them are unnecessary, but I'm trying to cover all the bases:
i7 4770k Overclocked to 4.2 GHz
Asus Gryphon Z87
16 GB DDR3 Corsair Vengence RAM
120 GB SSD
1 TB HD
240mm Liquid CPU cooler (completely unnecessary don't remind me...)
And of course, the aforementioned 780s in SLI
I'm hoping to power this system with an 850w Corsair RM, but I feel I may be pushing it here when the system is under peak load. Not to mention, this build is a bit over a year old now. Again, I apologize for posting yet another one of these questions, but if anyone can advise whether or not I should drop $$$ on an 1000w, I would greatly appreciate it. I may be a noobie, but I do hear quite a bit about the PSU being of utmost importance. But then again, spending $100+ on something I simply don't need...
