Hello all, I'm late on this notice but from what I see in the other thread we should have a thread specific to the current POTM. I'm dubbing this one "For the Love of the Universe" for obvious reasons! No official event to sign up for...just run Universe@home this week and have some fun! This project is CPU only (so you can still hunt for Primes with your GPUs) with no special config or setup. See how many points you can get before the weekend and help research how stars evolve and other related science-y things!

Awesome, that reminds me to setup my RPi. Not the 3rd version tho :\ I switched over most of my stuff, it'll be a bit cause I want them to finish their current task. Looking forward to the outcome!

It all depends on the cpu of course, Which flavor of the chipset itself.. All vary by a good margin....

If that's the case then HT on is the way to go. If you can do 2 time the numbers of tasks in less than 2 time the time, it is worth it.

Also agree with you both, Bill's... Some of the older chipset's without AVX and SSE are a lot slower.. Which is why I normally run with no HT No one knows until it is tested...Great info as always

LOL. The RPi is not really "worthwhile" to run Boinc tasks on, but Universe is one of the better projects for it. It's closer to 18 hrs/task...that little PC has done 158k lifetime for me on Universe
