I am using the EVGA FTW 1080 and an EVGA X99 Micro2 mobo. I picked up a EZDIY riser cable and am having the same issues it seems dozens of others have with these types of cables. My display only shows 20% of the time when booting up. I also think it may have been causing boot issues, but that may have been my RAM. Anyways, the myriad of posts I have found asking about these cables have recommended 3M brand and to just scrap anything cheaper as it will have issues working. I need to get a replacement for the EZDIY one asap as this build is on a time constraint. I spoke to an EVGA rep and he said while EVGA does not have any official recommendation that I should go with the shortest cable possible for my build and I should also check with the community to see if anyone has knowledge or expertise on the subject.

Let me know what you think thanks!

And if you do not use this EZDIY PCIe Riser Cable do you still have the same issue?

Everything works perfectly directly connected to the board. I need the riser in order to build the briefcase build I am in the process of building though and I don't think a riser card will work either.

Yeah, everywhere I looked its a common issue with many different riser cables. It seems it works for roughly 50% of the people using them. Reviews are split between 1 star and 5 star. These 3M ones are expensive but supposedly will do the job. 3M is a quality company I think so hopefully its all good. I think I will pick up the 250mm one on DigiKey. I was just hoping someone might know more. I want to have this briefcase pc done by Thanksgiving when I visit my brother as its for him. But with issues like this shipping is a concern. I still have time though!
