The pics show it installed.  The tests will be conducted shortly.  The block is on its way.

Nate,
Final product looks awesome!

One thing I noticed, looks like the VRM block is right up against the CPU power connectors? The cables that come with my Corsair AX1200 PS are not flush with those connectors and overhang a bit. Currently there are actually pressing up against the currently installed EVGA heat pipe between the two VRM heatsinks. I fear your block has zero clearance and I will not be able to plug my two 8-pin PS connectors into the MB with the block installed. Have you tried plugging any 8-Pin CPU power connectors into the MB while your VRM block installed?

Nate, give me a day or two to get the pic and the measurements of the power connector.
Quiet busy at work this week and my computer is a bit burried under my desk at the moment.
Thanks for looking at this!

Re:P67 Full Chipset Waterblock 2012/01/18 07:30:26 (permalink)
I tested with a PC Power and Cooling 1200W power supply connector and it didn't seem to have a problem.

Speaking of which, I forgot to post this pic:

People were asking me about that little red tab getting in the way.  A simple groove under the surface of the block addresses that.  This card is sitting halfway in the slot, so when it seats the red tab returns to its normal state.

The pic shows the red tab at maximum deflection when inserting a video card.  This is the farthest that the tab will stick out, which means you will have zero problems installing cards.  Taking them out will require any small device to move the tab out of the way.

here is a rough cad drawing of the groove:

Re:P67 Full Chipset Waterblock 2012/01/18 14:39:45 (permalink)
Nate,
Don't worry about adjusting the block in light of this protrusion on this cable I have. Apparently it's not standard and I decided to just dremel it off. I have a few other 8-pin connectors on other supplies and adapters, and none of them have this overhang on the connector. I am looking at your pics, and you already have very little room to shave off more metal next to the supply connectors.

That's funny. Not ha ha funny. I have two Z68's and one is the same as yours (where the second 8-pin hits the heat pipe) but the first Z68 I purchase has enough clearance.

Hey Everyone,

I just got my P67 FTW and Waterblocks back from Nate today and the workmanship and professionalism he put into this project are truly awesome! The man really dose great work and cares about his customers. Through this whole process of design and development  I was a part of it and if I came up with a dumb idea he didn’t just blow it off he would explain why he would think it was better to do it a better way. When he had issues with his CNC machine he refused to start the final work because he wanted it perfect because that is the kind of guy he is. He put the development  and completion of this water block sometimes before his own family and this is a hobby  mind you. I do want you to know I went out to Sidewinder and Heat killer first and I have the letters and e-mails to prove it and they turned us all down, but not Nate Man! I even feel they looked at his designs on the web site and borrowed from them in a way. I really wanted the P67/Z68 Chip water cooled but after we found that the heat coming from it didn’t warrant it Nate still felt the need to satisfy the customer and came up with the first hybrid water cooled air cooled block. When I get my parts in hand I will tear down my Z68 set up and put together my P67 FTW Dream Machine and I will post Pictures, Clock Speeds  and Temps.
I do not think anyone that purchases this set up from Nate will not be dissatisfied.

I would much rather purchase from one our own people (Nate) especially with this quality of workmanship & reputation, instead of an outsider ( sidewinder) or others even if they are good. I believe in loyalty!

Sidewinder is a reputable company. I have done business with them. Sidewinder is not a manufacture, just retail.

general query, do you guys prefer socket cap screws, or phillips screws that go under the board and bolt the block down.

If your talking about the screws that go under the board only, I prefer flatter phillips screws.

I assume the top of the block will be using socket cap screws exclusively? I like that look on the top of the blocks.

Re:P67 Full Chipset Waterblock 2012/01/30 12:00:25 (permalink)
yup.  Boatswain and I are trying to get all the details down and he suggested different screws then I normally use.  He has the block and is giving it the rundown.  Some small things are popping up, but everything is so far an easy fix.  Things like standoff washers between the block and the board, and different screws for the bottom.  (Not everyone has hex keys like I do, so simple things like that make the difference.  Personally  favor the hex keys because when you use the correct hex key, it is less likely to strip the head)  Imagine you could could give feedback to your waterblock maker - and he listened?  ;)

Re:P67 Full Chipset Waterblock 2012/01/30 12:23:24 (permalink)
Now that I think about it, what makes this block flexible, is that any screws can be used top or bottom.  Generally the flush mounted socket cap screws are used to keep a standard pattern over the entire block, which in most cases goes under video cards.  Since this block doesn't sit under anything (with the exception of the optional fan) the screws don't have to be flush mounted.  They can simply sit on top if u like the "bolt on/riveted" look - like an armored car, or tank or something
