Question: Is the fan necessary? (bearing in mind I wont be going for sky high overclocks, just a good stable one and getting the blocks more for looks)

Sadly upgrade didn't happen... system is:

AMD Athlon II X4 640
GTX 570 Classified
8gb Corsair Vengeance RAM 1600
ASUS M4A78LT-M-LE mainboard
NZXT BETA Evo case

Zalman Reserator external tower liquid cooling (black anodised version)

I doubt it. The south bridge is 10 watts from what i hear. Either way, can't hurt to pull more heat off anything else.

oh nate...your gonna kill me when your read this.... BUT.... Is there any chance of you making a brushed aluminum in black for the top piece instead of the delrin or copper?

edit: actually, if you just did the cutout i would even do the painting and aluminum brushing myself, if that helps at all?!?! :P

I can make it out of anything you want... BUT...why would you want an aluminum and copper mixed block?  It is highly advisable to stay away from mixing metals in watercooling loops.  Over time the pH imbalance will eventually start corroding the aluminum (and I use military grade-aircraft 7075 type aluminum for everything).

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.
