I'm getting tired of people telling me my i7 4770k 3.5ghz (3.9ghz Turbo) is meant to be OC'ed.  I don't like looking up on websites and seeing how people do theirs because it all varies.  What's a good place to go and learn about OC?  Check my signature.  What can I do to get a constant 150fps in games?

Here ya go. I would go with stock voltage and try how far it can take without raising any, including auto voltage.

If you really and I mean REALLY want to get a consistent 150fps in games, then lower your res or your in game visuals. Also it depends how demanding the game is. I say worry more about OCing your GPU than your CPU. The GPU is the horsepower to pump those frames.

But here ya go if you want to watch how to OC your CPU

The reason people tell you your CPU is meant to be overclocked is because it is. That is what the "K" on the end of your CPU stands for "Unlocked"

If you are not overclocking a "K" Intel chip then you wasted money.

Overclocking isnt as complex as some make it. Rule of thumb is make sure your CPU cooling is adequate before trying.

Great feedback guys.  Thanks again.  I use Corsair H100i CPU cooling hope that does the job.  I was messing with the GPU earlier today.  I set power target to 110%, GPU Clock Offeset to 44MHz and left mem clock offset to 0.  Heaven failed and locked my GPU.

try +55 on core clock and +100 on memory. Let me know if it still fails.

Just don't listen to them. Do your own benches. But, the "K" does mean it's meant to be overclocked, but only within certain parameters.
