So en light of whatever occurrence I won't be receiving that mobo that was offered.

So looking through the marketplace has yet to yield any results.  Ebay is a no go as I'm seeing high prices compared to what is offered here in our marketplace.

So if any folder has a spare 775 mobo PLEASE PM me!  And be honest and fair!

Hi dude,

Just read these posts with interest as I have had exactly the same problem with my 780i sli ftw mobo, I am new on here as never had a problem before but I am where you seemed to be at, tried everything suggested and tested psu which seems to be fine so guessing it is the cpu or mobo that needs replacing? How have you got on with everything?

Cheers,

Craig

I have my folding rig that I'm using for now.  I'm still trying to find a mobo to test with so until I do that rig id dead for the time being.  I'll up date this thread once I get another mobo to test and see if its the chip or mobo.

Cool, let me know how you get on as I've been having the same issue for the last week and appreciate it is very frustrating. A mate of mine has a spare 750 and 780 so going to test with one of those mobo's soon hopefully, will let you know how it goes.

bake the board in the oven im telling you it works i know it's a lot of work but it may live once more

This ONLY works if your board has 100% solid state capacitors.  If you have any that are not solid state, they WILL blow!  Most capacitors are rated for 105c (221F)  If they exceed that temperature for very long you will have a bunch of blown caps on your board you'll have to remove and replace.  Most people are safe trying this on higher end GPUs because they use 100% solid state caps.  MOST motherboards that are not enthusiast level boards do not, so keep that in mind.

Edit:  just read that you already did.  Well..... if you feel up to it you might still be able to save the board.  I bet if you look at that 780 you baked you have some caps that look like the ones circled in red below.  They do not have to have the tops popped off with electrolytic compound leaking out to be blown.  The small bulge on top of them (sometimes underneath too) is enough to cause bad things to happen on a board.  Good news is you can desolder them, and solder new ones in their place and possibly have a working board again.... as a spare.

Update:
Well I finally got another mobo and well same issue with no post.  I've done all the checks as before like I did with the EVGA 750i and I am pretty positive that the cpu is dead!

So it looks like I'll be looking for another quad core 775.

After all you have tried, this may sound silly, but was the motherboard mounted? You might want to take all the mounting screws out and try booting it on a cardboard box (pizza box works). Try taking the battery out for 10-15 min again before putting it in and trying that. It's a long shot after all the diagnostics and various boot attempts, but if you don't have a CPU to swap out, it would be one more test you could run with the existing CPU. Good luck!

I know your pain.  Sadly, as backwards in time as I am, the best chip in the house I've got, other than the E8600 in my rig, is an E6600.  So even in the time of crisis, I can't help.

I tested all four sticks in each slot and still no post.  I also did it with no gpu's, hdd's and 1 stick of ram.  Still the same issue.  So I know for sure that its the cpu!
