hi Guys
I have a question about the on board Power and reset buttons

On my Z97 Classy Mother board those buttons would light up and blink to the Hard Drive crunching

But on my new X99 mb they DO NOT

Do I have something turned off in the bios
Or does the X99 Micro 2 simply not have those LED's lit on the On Board buttons?

Regards, Rick

Is it a M.2 PCIe SSD?  If so, those unfortunately don't have the activity light feature at least that's what one of the EVGA tech's have said on here.

Mine does show up blinking at times when my M.2 shows some activity.  Kinda odd but its possible its picking up my other mechanical SSDs.

May sound silly, but make sure you got the connector in the right way round.

Even with no sata devices in my machine, the red drive activity LED is lit very dimly. Not completely off. If its a raid array then im not sure how that effects the LED functionality but the led should at least still be lit a tiny bit.

Their is a Pin 1 to Pin 1 connection on the connector look for a small arrow pointing down this connects to Pin 1 on the MB.

Thanks for the reply but i don't understand what you are saying

there is a pin connector that I'm supposed to connect to pin 1 ?

I asking about the power/reset buttons on the mb
they are supposed to light up right ?

Not seeing an arrow or pin your are talking about

If you just try the connector inserted in both directions, it's an LED and it won't get damaged by plugging it in the wrong way round - neither will the motherboard.

The power and reset buttons are not lit on our micro2 either. Don't think they are suppose to light up.

Guys, he's talking about the Power button on the MOTHERBOARD.  Anyways, back on topic.

Not sure why it would be any different from the rest of the line up but my power button on the MB, stays lit (red) from the X99 Classified with the reset button as the HD activity but only works for SATA of course.  Odd thing is I get activity during boot up as if its showing my M.2 at work so I'm not sure.

There appear to be no lights on the built in power/reset buttons on the motherboard. Some leds come on around near the sata ports, but ivd never seen the buttons light up on my Micro 2.

Fine I will stop Posting here.

Not what I said BC.  Don't take this personal but you sometimes do that.  Granted you've helped many folks here but I feel you misinterpret what is said sometimes which carries away from the main issue.
