Believe me...I'd love to proclaim to everyone "I told you so" about the new points system and that I even predicted the Hardware Canaucks would run away with it...but we'll wait a few more days to see how this plays out.
Also, if things continue in this direction I will add my own modified Contest Points calculation to the stats page that reflect what I believe to be a fairer and more unbiased basis for stats (who knows if the outcome will be any different).

Based on what I'm seeing, we can post a 22million point day for the whole team. Even if we don't win the CC we can still set ALL KINDS of records the others can only DREAM OF!!

If you look at the beavers, they're a small team and they were able to get almost all of their big folders in the CC. Small teams are easier to mobilize. Only 1 real big folder from what I see didn't switch. If the beavers get the jaded monkey on a handicap, so be it. Let's show them why they needed the handicap.  Once I get home and find out what's wrong with my internet, I'm getting back in this fight. Fold on!

Agreed! I hope they feel handicapped when they display the badge. That must be what it's like to win a gimped race. And when everything shakes out Team EVGApes will have the stats to be proud of. We don't need no stinking badges - we have everything else !

After monitoring my points for the last few hours, I'm gonna be down by 20kPPD until I can figure out and fix what's wrong with my rig. MAN, this torques me off. Had to happen JUST after I go to bed...
On the other hand, we had, if my count is right, 335 folks signed up last year, and we have 305 folks signed up so far this year. Not too badly done, considering the lack of lead time!

As long as you are doing all you can, there's nothing to be mad about. Even Nascar Teams loose an engine out of the # Cars they run in a race. I know you'll do all you can just like any "top notch" Pit Crew would. There's no way for any Team event to totally avoid 'MOOSE'. C'mon He has his own Law.

Wish me luck guys. I'm gonna talk to my boss tomorrow to see if he will let me use the two work servers to fold on. This is a long shot, but if he does let me I think they should throw down at least another 100k and in my thinking 200k in PPD. Since we are in the military we don't personally own it thats why it might be a fight in the end.

We should just weather the storm and deal later. Putting an alternative point system up that would let us win.... Would simply be a "fail" for us Apes. Let's just "suck it up" and get back at it... We'll prevail in the end. It's way too early to worry

Well, I dropped my first -bigadv unit a couple hours ago, and I've got a 6900 WU at around 40 min/frame on 6 threads of my i7 right now (965@3.73 GHz), with a pair of GTX 580s also churning away. Total PPD is around 60k according to HFM.net. I'm certainly not giving up yet

It would not just let us win...it would be a fairer system that better represents team's folding capabilities. Honestly, I have no clue who would win on it, but it would be interesting to see how it compares.

Agreed, when they win with 1/10th or so of our efferts... We should just continue to "give it hell" as the EVGApes. And hope lots of other Team members realize that it "Ain't Gonna Be easy" like the past and Jump on in.
