I just want to clarify...when can I start folding under the EVGApes pass key? I don't want to start early, but I don't want to start too late either. I plan on setting and forgetting so make sure whatever time and day you tell me to start folding won't break any rules. I can't wait till this thing kicks off so we can slam dunk some other teams. One more question just to clarify the official end will be the 15th? (I'm assuming at midnight) I want to give the team as much as I can, but I need at least 5 days to be able to still get my 350k for the month.

Since your in California, it starts may fifth noon, and ends may 15th noon. You can switch over any time between now and then, some already have. Best would be either evening 4th (regular smp) or  morning of the 5th (gpus)

Ok so if I just wait till the 1st of May and just let -bigadv run with GPUs(if I get WC before then) I will be good to go? I won't have to worry about anyone thinking that I primed or anything of that nature? I would hate to get us kicked out because I want to be lazy and just let them run.

Shades of me several days ago.

We have our healthy handicap, so in my opinion let's not further handicap ourselves with late timing of Bigadvs just to avoid possible allegations.  The other teams will certainly start their Bigadvs strategically (as the rules allow), so we should too.  As long as nobody delays their WU's and allows them to complete normally, we all should be within the rules.

I started an old Q6600 smp about 4 days ago just to ensure that My passkey was ready for the 13 or 14 -bigadv's that will switch over 2 days prior

Yeah I am trying to get everyone at my work to loan me their computers for that 10 days. There isn't a penalty for doing 5 times how much you signed up for is there? I am honestly trying to get to 200k PPD if everything goes according to plan. Wish me luck in scamming all my coworkers lol.

Tried to get my college to allow me to set up at least one classroom to fold....no go. I think if the teacher I talked to last year was there it woulda been fine.

I'll be packing what I can carry under this badly wired place.  I've freed up the most power I can, but my main rig is hindered by having high-drain low-use appliances on it (washer and dryer) and a commonly used microwave.

Time to get ready and reawaken the beasts!
Gonna do a three/four day warmup under my own name to shake out the bugs starting Sunday/Monday, switching over on SMP's after the first drop so I don't end up NOT being able to change until Saturday (that'd suck), and switching over my GPU's Wed. night.

Sucks that we got bitten by the Electric Bill Beast, but with gas going the way it is, we're counting EVERY friggin' penny right now . . . But, I gotta do what I can to suppor the team!

I'll give folding for the cc a go, but it looks like I won't have much to fold with for the period.
Every little helps though?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Chimp Challenge Stats Page - Powered by Hardware Canucks is good to go!

URL: http://www.hardwarecanuck..m/chimp_challenge/2011/

There are still a few minor changes to be made, and we are still tweaking the charts over the weekend. Currently the "Chimp Points" chart is not displaying until we finalize a few things, but like I said, that should be completed by the end of the weekend.

Also, this year you can reserve your chat name in the Smack Talk Box, so we shouldn't have any troubles with user impersonation - just follow the brief instructions to create a profile. Also, tweet the word out! Get your friends involved!

This year should be plently of fun :applaud:

Cheers and see you on the battlefield

I came from OCN and will be using a core i7 @ 4.0ghz to help EVGA crush them.  I never cared for their community.

I know its not much but if i wanted to use my best rigs for folding in the CC, then I would be about to contribute at minimum, 30K PPD per Rig ...so about ummm 90K PPD (without bigadv).

I'm new to EVGA folding...and just started running a few clients about a week ago

Before I go ahead and decide to sign up....my major concern is this handicap nonsense....What's the deal and who made this decision.? Is this because of the timing of the -bigadv stuff?

So far, I tried to read up and do my homework before i put my 2 cents in, but, based on what I read, it seems like other teams are also doing it...if true then why the handicap?

@Teddy,
We could use the help certainly. As for the Handicap and the -bigadv... it's really 2 different issues.

This year the CC is being run differently than last year's. EVGApes won so convincingly and quickly last year that all the other teams are mad. Sooo the Captains came up with a convoluted points scheme that leaves the largest teams at a huge disadvantage.

for Us EVGApes, although it is annoying, it will not deter our appearance. Nor our fighting to win anyway, nor (hopefully ) our winning again.

We'd love to have you join us for the CC.

Just signed up for CC, but umm...small problem:

I look at all of these people that have a number for their EOC ID...and then there's mine... I thought it was just our name...if someone could direct me to where the actual number is, I would appreciate. Also, what do I need to do to fix this mess?

P.S. For the record, I did participate last year. I also got a passkey last year, but I don't remember using it...and I'm still confused on where I would use it. I'm not exactly sure if I need one, since I fold on the PS3 via "Life with PlayStation". Clarification on these things will be appreciated.

Regardless we need a call to arms and in a real way so we can prove it does not matter how bad they handicap us (Really that is what they have done here) we need FOLDERS!!!

As of right now we (Wife and I) are going to produce our PPD production with...

Two 920's (60,000 ppd on avg the last year)
Three 470's (Est of 36,000 ppd)

For nearly 100,000 ppd... Or 4.56825846% of our production needed for a point!

I may drop a bigadv WU the day of the CC.  I currently have one dropping either later this afternoon or tomorrow.  So I hope that all the hoopla about stopping my clients and starting them so a bigadv drops on the 5th.

I just wanted to let everyone know that this may happen and wasn't intentional.

The easiest way to set up the bigadv is using GPUtracker. PM barbarossa to get a passykey and use that in the config tab of tracker. Change your name to EVGApes and select the bigadv box also in the config area. Depending how fast you fold them, they can be worth 60,000 and up. They do take about 2 to 2.5 days again, depends on your set up.
