hell...im kind of leary of my 480...i got it back from rma and i havent done anything with it yet. not sure if it was my tt650 or what, but that was like the 4th card.

Last week I entered the gigabyte Comp.DX10...at the last minute after the debarcle a few weeks ago .....about downclocking i decided to give it a go, SF3D set 133 BCLK as the lowest we could go...that was my limit.....I ran all the configurations with the same CPU clock, Single, SLI, Tri & 4way......I was In front at the end and I thought I won....silly me!!!!!
After the comp was over I get a flagged result from massman.....for downclocking......so I contacted him and It appears that a couple of days before the end of the comp they discovered that down clocking after boot was causing the bug not the actual clocks....I was using a presaved boot setting and lowering my clocks to 133 then upping the multiplier for a higher Overclock not realizing that this was the cause...
But they failed to make this public knowledge until after the comp ended......so I Pulled my scores....alittle disheartened with the hole benchmark...until they address this problem.....

i thought that was what sf3d was talking about. i set mine at 133 and boot and just moved the multiplier, but i could not catch his dx11 score, but my card gave out and seemed to have a lot more to give. just like the last 3 times. this time i ditched my tt650 watt psu

My TT650 along with a Antec 1200turbo was causing my problems. With 2 Corsair 1200 AXs my maximum clocks are getting much higher. Both CPU and GPU, Max CPU was 34 X 133 and GPU 1700/1900 anything higher resulted in restarts.

i was using that psu on one card, but i think because of the delay in power...it was fring my cards...needless to say...it is out of rotation now..

I too didn't realize it was lowering the bclk after boot.  So, that would be twice burned on heaven for you, huh Sniper?  I'd be gun shy too....too many hours that can be invested in something else, lol!

TBO, I haven't been keeping up with heaven because of the downclocking issue.  But....maybe I'll just run single dx9 to see if I can catch ya!

No we did not break the thread . EVGA had a problem where alot of the threads lost the first 10 to 20 posts. It is being fixed at this time.
I have many issues with this and the 580 thread today that I have been fixing as fast as possible.
