Don't bother trying to hide it....that never works...just tell her that is what you are doing. You can't really plant the seed and water it every day because she gets nothing out of it.
You know, "Hey wouldn't it be great if we had one of those slim LED HD TV's in our bedroom?" She would think to herself: "that may be a neat way to spend time with my hubby", and be open to it. But not with computer components....that gets her NOTHING...no enjoyment, and an AWOL hubby, ha, ha.
