I also just noticed that 197.75 drivers adds 4 way SLI support on 480's, so some might pop up actually

Just for benching, you may want to go directly to the wall. Those backups sometimes have line regulators in them, which sound really great when reading it on the box, but will choke down the total power available, and leave your rig begging for more juice. I'd go straight to the wall for benching, and then back to the backup after you're done. By the way, what backup are you using that can even keep up with what you have??? I had to scrap mine ages ago because it almost melted, lol.

Dude, don't feel stupid at all. The fact that you're at 40k without a 980X is awesome. Even WITH a 980X, I was dead last until I overclocked the hell out of the gpu's. On another note, does anything else think this thread should be made a sticky?? I think this one and the one for the 470 both should be.

Need to do a little more work on my processor. 4.32GHz is was my highest "stable" OC without silly amounts of voltage, but if I'm just going for benching stability I think I can crank it up to 4.4-4.5 at least. And yes I agree this needs to be sticky-ed. Good thread.

Don't worry, I didn't really think you felt "stupid" but I wanted to let you know that your score is pretty awesome, considering. Don't push your hardware to the point of breaking something just for a benchmark. If your overclock requires a massive amount of voltage to go any higher, than that should tell you something. I'd hate to see you fry your hardware over a Vantage score, you know?

Yeah, definitely not worth frying anything. I am very competitive though... ok will try to avoid frying things... Even with my backed down cpu/video clocks and SpeedStep enabled, I know that Battlefield BC2 will look just as good and Vantage will look just as bad as on Shamino's rig  . And as long as it's over 35-40FPS I can't tell anyway  .
