hething,

My cpu runs 1.44 VCORE and 1.3QPI/VTT and 1.8PLL

I will be playing around with my cards today to see what I get for my best settings. 3way SLI is a bit tricky finding that sweet spot.

My cards never exceed 45'c while benching even with 1.2v being stuffed down the cards throats.

Im starting with 1.100mv at 850/1800mem and working my way up on the core. Once I max it out, ill max the mem out. Recording all my findings now. This info wont be relevant on your system because no two builds OC the same.

Thanks for the info..:D I do really appreciate that..:D
I know that no systems are the same even though the specs says so.. I just wanted to know what other people can do with this hardware.. I suppose you are using water on both GPUs and CPU since your temps are maxing at 45*C..:D
Im using Air on all three GPUs.. The CPU is cooled by a H70..:D

I hope to hit 48k+ soon..:D
I gotta say that the new driver (260.99) is very good.. more stable than the one I used before. (258.xx)

860core/1800mem @ 1.100mv gave me my 48k "without disabling any services or anything".

Give those numbers a try?

What is your standard voltage on your GPUs?

Just got my first lockup, but I knew it was bound to happen. Trying to take the voltage up in the smallest increments to avoid giving it more juice than necessary.

Up to 870core/1800mem @ 1.100mv and it gave me 48,491. Got the lockup when I tried running 880/1800 "just needed a bump in voltage is all".

my third card is 1025mV standard..:(
So Vantage won't finish at 860/1720/1800 not even at 1100mV.
It chashes.

theres a new patch?

Also try setting your ICH/IOH PCIE to 1.51 "if you check them while in windows they will auto to this, so manually set them".

Re:*Official GTX 470 Vantage Scores* 2010/10/25 13:04:19 (permalink)
same here. I

I am finding out the following.

After 870mghz on the core. Every 10mghz I increase the core requires another 0.037mv bump in voltage or I get a hang.

Which means I will be up to or around 1.2v to bench at 900+ on the core   >.<

I really do not feel comfortable feeding that much juice into my cards. Feel like I am wasting good runs for 3DMark11 when it comes out lol

Re:*Official GTX 470 Vantage Scores* 2010/10/25 13:27:01 (permalink)
hitting a wall at 890mghz on the core here. Up to 1.162mv and dropped the memory down to 1701mghz.

Needing so much juice, but its 10mghz between 3 cards....so the required power makes sense.

Wish these cards OC'd like the 460's, 1ghz on the core on air!

it seems like I cant go higher than 825/1650/1950.. 830/1660/1701 does not even seem plausible... I think Im hitting a wall already.. Im on air..

what are your voltages?

what are your temps reaching?

I have come to the conclusion on my setup that anything beyond 870 on the core is detrimental to the performance.

I will give the details later on as to what I have revealed on my setup.

1087mV..
I've tried to increase voltage up to 1150mV.. Cant complete at 830/1660/1800
Temps are great.. They are never exceeding 80*C not even at 100 % Load..
(see my signature.. "nice and neat VGA-Cooling".. that's how my cards are cooled..

Re:*Official GTX 470 Vantage Scores* 2010/10/25 13:47:47 (permalink)
thats too much voltage for those clocks.

Have you taken up the voltage in 1 click increments? Think you have to take it in 0.012mv increments.

Too much voltage will make them unstable and kill the performance for the run.

Hmm so your chucking it up for now?

What happens to your cards?

When your benching does the game freeze or does it reboot the PC?

At the beginning it was restarting, but then I increased voltage on the CPU.. That helped.. then I moved on to overclocking the GPUs..
The benchmark stops, and i get the message "driver has stopped working and has recovered"..

No im not chucking it up for now but for today I am..

Re:*Official GTX 470 Vantage Scores* 2010/10/25 14:20:40 (permalink)
The driver issue I was getting when the cards were getting close to the end of their OC range.

But if you are having to play with your CPU overclock at all for benching then you are mixing to many variables into the equation for a problem.

You want to make sure your CPU is 100% stable first.

20 passes in LinX with the highest problem size and all ram being used and its stable; else LinX will find the weak spot and stop the test.

Hard to tell if its CPU or GPU related at this point.

I haven't had time for doing a complete test @ 4.4 Ghz..
4.2 Ghz completes without problems..:D

I will test the 4.4 Ghz tomorrow.. maybe later this week..
I would like to PM you another day if okay with you.. it sounds like  you can learn me something..:D
