Hi, I'm currently planning to get my hands on one of those neat cards as well. Eventually I want to set it under water, which means a hydro copper water block is a must, either by buying the HC edition or the seperate water block later on. So here in Europt/Austria I guess we will have to wait for the HC edition quite a while, so I tend to stick with the air cooled version and upgrade it later on. But I have 2 questions: - Is it guaranteed that the HC water block will fit on the air cooled classified edition?
- Will the seperate water block be available in EU store? None of the others (680, titan, ...) is. So I was wondering. Not that I buy the air cooled classy but then won't be able to buy a fitting water block.

1. The Hydro Copper can only fit on the reference cards. The 780 Classified Hydro Copper block will only fit on the 780 Classified. 2 different blocks. 2. If the 680 Hydro Copper blocks and 680 Classified Hydro Coppers were in Europe in the past, my guess is they will do the same with the 700 blocks.

I'd say, beyond all of our impatience lol, supply is finally decent. Thank goodness, right? :) I started to purchase two cards, but had to tell myself to just chill for a bit. I'll gauge how my performance is with one card first, and decide if I think it's worth picking up a second.

Are there instructions that come with the backplates? I just want to be extra careful so I don't screw up my new cards. Also, I assume installing the backplates will NOT void any EVGA warranties since they are selling the things?

Yes. The screws are in a small baggy in the crease of the cardboard sleeve it arrives in and the instructions are inside with the backplate.

will the backplates be sold in e-tailers? I tried to order directly from the EVGA store and the shipping alone was $40+ (double the price of the backplate).

UPS only delivers on Saturday if Saturday delivery is opted into (it costs extra) FedEx will deliver on Saturday normally, though.

I was almost certain they wouldn't and went ahead and picked up a regular Classified. Guess I could try and sell it and break even, cause card+backplate+block is going to be way cheaper.

hmmm - $700 (card) + $20 (bp) + $150 to $170 (wb - estmt) = $870 to $890 for the pieced-up 780 Classified HC ... ... what are you figuring the 780 Classified HC card is going to go for ? I'd be betting on, right around the same $870 to $890 (pending the price of the wb) ...

Well I was on the John and got to thinking about it and yea, when I posted that I was factoring in a price of $850 for the HC with blackplate. So basically getting the backplate for free. Hopefully I can get the WB and BP at same time so I don't have to pay triple shipping. Will be kind of a pain to assemble it all the first time, but afterwards if I need to RMA or something, I can just yang both off as one piece. That and I could have sworn in some other thread Jacob said the price of the Hydro pre-installed has always been a little cheaper than buying both separate.

I just grabbed a Classy today but didn't realize the backplate didn't come with it. Like sticks, I'm gonna have to pick one up when I order a waterblock, too. Is the backplate even needed with a waterblock? Or is the wb heavier than the air cooling system and warrant the extra support?

I guess that would obviously be up to the individual card owner ... ... but, the following is what EVGA recommends when purchasing a waterblock (ex: from GTX 780 waterblock) : _____________________________________ "*Important Note* EVGA GTX 780 backplate (sold separately) recommended for proper installation. You can purchase the backplate here. " _____________________________________ So, EVGA recommends the backplate with the waterblock, ---- but, "to each his own" ...

Paktai - The Hydro Copper can only fit on the reference cards. The 780 Classified Hydro Copper block will only fit on the 780 Classified. different blocks.
- If the 680 Hydro Copper blocks and 680 Classified Hydro Coppers were in Europe in the past, my guess is they will do the same with the 700 blocks.
Thanks, but I'm not satisfied yet. :) - That was my mistake. So is it guaranteed that the seperate classified HC water block will fit on the air cooled classy?
- Well, the problem is, I can't say if other hc water blocks were ever abailable here in Europe, because right know they are not. Our biggest price finder does not even list a single one. I'd like to know, if at least the EVGA EU shop will have them available, before I buy the card. If it will not be sold here, I'm forced to wait for the classified HC card.

Likely due to it being the first EU batch. Besides maybe the EU batch has some golden samples in it Managed to get an order in for two cards myself , just waiting for it to be processed. Once those two cards arrive it's just a matter of waiting for the waterblocks with likely a backplate aswell so i can finish my first watercooling project.

It is always the silicon lottery and the luck of the draw , but Classifieds got better parts and , maybe, better binned chips. If it s not EVGA, I ll check up MSI Lightning then, because there will be some very good OC as well, for sure.
