SUPACASEY
yeah I'm not taking a hose to it either lol.

I've never had an issue, since the first time, because I didn't know I needed to kill the microbes.  Once I pressure-flushed with the garden hose (and a LOT of crap comes out of radiators under high water pressure - DO IT!), and put the loop together to clean with a gallon of distilled water and a few caps of vinegar, every loop I have built has lasted years without maintenance.  The last one I had was nearly 3 years old: just used distilled water, a silver coil, and a few drops of iodine (remember, I flushed first and then cleaned the system with vinegar and distilled water by running it for 30 minutes or a whole gallon).  All I did was add some distilled water every 4 or 6 6 months in the T-line i had.  Done.

Re: EVBOT vs Classified_voltage 2013/10/16 08:39:38 (permalink)
Now then. This is my first post, so I hope it's in the right spot

I've just bought a backplate for my 780 Classified (first nVidea card upgrading from AMD 5970's) and installed it, but now my idle temps are 41 degrees as opposed to the 29 degrees I was getting without the backplate  Is this normal? I took the plastic cover off the top but left the one underneath on as it looked permanent and there is no mention of removing it on the instructions

Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and how do you add your system specs etc under your posts?

Cheers.

Under Control Panel you have Signatures and Comments Options and you add your system there.
For Backplate I don't know... I must pay attention when backplate arrived on that too, because mine idle temps are like you say 28-29-30C without backplate.

Cheers mate.

Yeah, keep an eye out and let me know your temps. They are still at acceptable levels and the backplate does look awesome, but I enjoyed boasting about having my beast card at 28 degrees

It's supposed to be out of the back slot but some air does get blown into the case.

I never had in life card with so bad Video Memory for OC, MAX is +250.
I can't even 1650MHz on memory. Maybe is that not reason but probably is not same memory for all 780 Classifieds.
I tried everything and different BIOS and more voltages. Nothing, card is bad not good for OC and GPU but memory don't deserve Classified name at all.

780 Classy Backplate touching Soldering Joints? 2013/10/18 21:12:41 (permalink)
Got my two backplates in.  Anyone else see the backplate making contact with the soldering joints around the VRMs?

I really had to tweak one back plate just so it wouldn't touch.  Not sure if this is a problem or not.  I haven't tried installing the 2nd plate yet.

Using the new Google Plus editing tools to Spotlight and focus on the area of concern.  I hope it is clear enough.  This is before I loosened all screws and started apply side pressure to get it away from the solder.  It's still hard to tell if it is touching any or not.

I still can't believe the 780 Classy didn't come with these backplates.  They really are the missing piece to make this card bad-ass!  But I guess to keep it under the $700 mark...

No, why would it? The classified is a custom board while the titan is nvidia's reference design.

EK actually makes a waterblock specifically for the EVGA GTX780 Classified. :D

Re:Official EVGA GTX 780 Classified Thread 2013/10/21 06:05:59 (permalink)
Hello,

First, my system:
Intel Core i5 4670K
Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H
Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB DDR3-1600 LP CL8 kit
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Classified 3GB
Samsung 840 Evo 120GB
Lite-On iHAS124
Corsair Carbide 330R
Seasonic G-Series 650W
Scythe Mugen 3 PCGH Edition
BenQ GW2450HM

I'm looking for a safe 24/7 OC for my Classified, so I can gain some FPS. Is there anyone who has a quick guide or some tips, maybe in a private message? I search a lot, but I lack time helas. I just need a clear answer, and not to damage my system/GTX 780. I'm so sorry if somebody else had already answered this question..

Greetings

Re:Official EVGA GTX 780 Classified Thread 2013/10/21 06:19:22 (permalink)
I made profil for me, 1100MHz GPU and 1600MHz Memory with 110% power limit.
It's not hard OC at all but give you over 350 points more than out of box in Valley + card is overclocked out of box.
That's +107/+196. I keep that on Normal BIOS not LN2. I flashed LN2 for some skynet with 130% power limit but I keep on Normal BIOS.
Depend of voltage card will boost more or less, over 1250MHz. I keep on 1175V for now and it's stable. with 1200V she boost more.

Yea I have Installed EVGA Precision 4.2.1 connected with EVGA OC Scanner 3.3.0 but for now I didn't use EVGA OC Scanner and Riva Tunner Statistic Server is installed just in case. I liked more than MSI Afterburner. You can download nice skins for Precision too.

But because I play on 1920x1080 that profile will be useful only for 10 games maybe.
For other no need to touch over default. You can try if you have good memory and 1700MHz memory but not if that is MAX.
If you can 1750MHz and more than you can save and 1700MHz but you will get maybe 100 points maybe less in Unigine Valley more than with memory on 1600MHz.

I installed the 2nd backplate and the 2nd card did not have the soldering sticking up as far.

It would seem I have one card with solder too high to clear the back plates.

I have two 780 classified hydro coppers. If anyone is familiar these cards. There is a white led strip with 4 LEDs on each card. One of my cards just recently is not detected in device manager and that card also only has 2 white LEDs lit. Any ideas as to what that might indicate? Thanks in advance.

Good news for me, the backplates did not make my temps go up like they did on my 680 classy's.

Silly question... Is it ok to leave the classified cards in LN2 mode or is it best to leave them in normal mode?

I have two 780 classified hydro coppers. If anyone is familiar these cards. There is a white led strip with 4 LEDs on each card. One of my cards just recently is not detected in device manager and that card also only has 2 white LEDs lit. Any ideas as to what that might indicate? Thanks in advance.

5 LEDs BTW.

I believe that these LEDs indicate the PCIe connection/voltage of various points. Meaning, if a few are not lit, it could indicate that the card is not seated completely.

Just a guess of what these bright-as-hell LEDs are.

Thanks, the weird thing is it worked in ski for about 5 min and I went to shut down my PC and I lost all displays and had to manually shut it off. Sense than I have swapped cards in different PCI slots thinking it was the slot but the only card to give me display was the card with all LEDs lit regardless of what slot it was in. I sent the one card in for RMA already. But I'm almost certain it isn't a bad slot or connection. I reseted the cards more times than id like to mention with draining my loop and refilling it at least 10 times.

It's hard to tell where was problem...
If you few time install and resit and turn power off and on you can't do much more than contact EVGA.
You could use Probe IT Connector only to check where is problem,
he can tell you immediately if somewhere no enough voltages if that is problem.
Connector near that 5 LED lights is for that Probe IT.

Anyone at EVGA able to advise when we might expect another shipment of these cards down in Australia? Every major pc component supplier in the country that I know of is sold out and not taking orders.
