yeah, i considered that the CPU might be a bad die or something, but theres no sign of that. No crashing, isnt buggy, and runs stable under loads and benchmarks. So i really dont think its that, im gonna try slapping a different video card in and see what i get from that.

I'm glad to heat that, to be honest I will not look manufacturer of memory at all. Yes Physix score depend from CPU, mine 3770K too never had over 10.000. Maybe little under OC, usually 9500. I look some other user sometimes had even 12.000. But official is usual close to 9-10.000 I think. I don't know what happen but all other scores are close to official score. CINEBENCH, Fritzchess, Vantage,....

hey there classy owners. so after testing 2 brand new MSI Lightnings I must say I am so disappointed by them. Lack of software support / bad BIOS / no tech support at all and realy low clocking on AIR. becouse of this I returned them and now I think I am on classy / titan boat :) I have a question though. I am living in czech republic and we should get batch of Classy cards in 13th september. I have a friend in one eshop and if he can tell me SN of the cards, can EVGA rep tell me if they are using Samsung or Elpida chips from some sheet they surely have for each manufactured card ? I dont want to throw rocks on Elpida but to be fair on both Lightnings were Elpida chips and even with 1.7v they wont go over +200 mhz :( Thanks guys and keep up the good work :)

If I already bought a 780 Classified Hydro and I want to do SLI, would I need another one, or could I use a regular classy and just add a water block and back plate onto it? You can use an ACX card and install a HC and backplate. You'd be saving $50 if you just get another 780 HC Classy, they're in stock.

I'm about 3 weeks away from having the money to get my 780 classy. Jacob, is there a time frame out when this card may be available at local retailers? I'm wondering because I've waited so long it would be nice if instead of rmaing that I could just walk into Fry's or something should the need arise. The card's been out over a month now so I'm think in another 3 weeks it will be about 2 months plus already and perhaps I could wait another week or 2 if hitting retail shelves is coming close (plus save another $10 or so on shipping etc.). Any feedback on this would be much appreciated! I live in San Diego btw if that matters.Thx! Justin S

Honestly I doubt Frys will ever carry the Classified. My Frys (Sacramento, CA) doesn't even sell the reference 780s. The best they have in stock are the 770 SCs.
I could be wrong but I'd just order from the Evga site.

For the LED u could try some black non conductive glue. A small blob over the LED will do the trick, though if u ever needo t get it off it would be a pain :P Otherwise get a backplate and use electrival tape and make sure the edges of the tape end UNDER the backplate, that way all u see is 'black' without seeing the edges of the tape. Should look perfectly fine. I also want to bring this post to attention for ALL classified owners. http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?high=&m=2018526&mpage=1#2022052 if u have a ACX cooler rattle issue, here is ur answere. Thank the guy ho had the balls to try to fix it :) Ill be doign the same thing ocne i get aroudn to changing my TIM, sincei have the same noise issues at set RPM values.

You need to take of the cooler and check the memory directly. Though imo i dont think it makes much difference. My current OC has +500 on the memory and iv had it up at 600 wihtout issue (7000mhz effective and 7200 effective), i have not even found its limits yet. That said i dont know which memory i have as i have yet to pull of the cooler to replace the TIM, ill get around to it soon. Though i suspect iv got the Elpidia memory as im in the UK and im pritty sure everyone in the UK got Elpidia memory cards. I could be wrong, maybe we did get 1 batch of samsung memory cards in which case its possible i got that since i think i got a card from the 1st batch at scan.co.uk as they went out of stock the same day my card was dispatched, more card were due for arrivale a day or 2 later.

Hey mate. It's most likely the "legacy pci" issue. It your old card back into the pc of you've still got it. Go to the pcie settings and change from uefi to legacy. I had the same problem with my classifieds this solved the problem for me. Report back if this resolved your issue! :)

I will work this out somehow as well. The green/red light is way to bright and really ugly. I am still wondering how someone designs something like this. *facepalm* They could have just mounted another white LED that is either on or off. I think I will block it of with some thermal tape. Electrical tape could break down over time because of the heat the LED is producing. (Yes, it is very little, but the tape will be in direct contact on the same spot all the time.) Acesi7 Does anyone know if the waterblock and backplate block the white and green/red lights on the Classified? I've got 3 of them and the blocks are on their way. Just wondering if I have work on a solution before applying the blocks or if the blocks will cover them. Cheers

It would be nice if the LED was customizable on the next generation, like we can with keyboards or mice. That way we can match our setups no matter what we use.
