Search didn't bring up anything so I have do ask, is every 780 Classified shipping with Samsung memory or only some of them? I see Overclockers got a Classy with samsung memory and that might be enough to push me to upgrade early.
Just about any card you buy now will have Elpida memory. Samsung only came on the first batches.

I have 3 classifieds sitting at home, just waiting for the HC blocks to come (Damn being an Aussie! ). Anyone know if I can run these in 3-way SLi without a gap between them? Or will the middle one run too hot? Next to no air movement in my case as it's all watercooled with the rads down in the bottom compartment.

You should always have airflow no matter where your rads are. Every component benefits from moving air. Also, does it really matter if you're going to be running it temporarily anyway before you get the blocks on?

I've got blocks on pretty much everything, so I don't really have a lot of air flow through the case, just a extraction fan at the top, it's a TJ11, there isn't really anywhere else to put fans in either... :S I'm not going to be OC'ing them while on air, I've just been hearing that they run in excess of 80 degree normally, wouldn't this cause the middle one some problems with overheating?

Hi guys. Why is there no 780 Classifieds available for sale in the US online? Am I missing something in the bigger picture? Was thinking about getting one, as I just built a pc. I need a gpu. Does anybody have a clue how long it will be until they are available again, or what the deal is?

Yeah, I was auto notified by Newegg, and did purchase it. With the holiday weekend I assume Shoprunner 2-day shipping could take up to next Wednesday to deliver, unfortunately. I'm glad the decision is over with. EVGA seems like an excellent choice as a manufaturer for my first ever gpu. (This is my first build.) But I am still surprised by the lack of stock across the US for this model. With the timing of finishing my build yesterday, but still still researching gpu's, and my desire to go ahead and select that final piece, EVGA almost lost my business I think. I'm surprised this model is not in better supply. A tech product that has a fast and furious lifespan. To me, having an offered product not readily available for sale anywhere just doesn't make sense. But, like I said, there could be more to it besides just "sold out" that I am not familiar with.

Jacob, do you know if the batch next week will have Samsung memory or Elpida memory? I've got a 770 4gb Classy right now but I'm going to upgrade to the 780 Classy and wondering if I should purchase the ones newegg(U.S.) just put in stock a couple of hours ago or wait for the batch you mentioned.

I believe that I read a post from Jacob saying that all memory was Elpida from now on.... I don't believe that it makes that much difference tbh looking at the overclocking of memory and core. Best results will be seen from core increases and not memory... In order to reach higher core clocks I need to keep memory overclocks lower in any event. Just my 2 cents worth... djdelirius EVGA_JacobF Sold out. More next week. Jacob, do you know if the batch next week will have Samsung memory or Elpida memory? For those that want to see how the backplate looks installed. It doesn't do anything for the temps but if you have a clear case to show it off its nice and worth $20 from EVGA.

That's a great question. I am curious to know as well. It's possible it's EVGA's Frostbite Thermal Grease.

At overclock.net the Classy's with highest benchmarks and highest memory OC's are using Elpida memory. But in the end it really should not matter since both Samsung and Elpida memory definitely meet their 1500 MHz rating, it just how high it OC's after that.

Hey Guys, I am definitely interested in the Classified, as I have a water cooling system already I am keen to consider putting this card under water. I also have a couple of EK universal supreme waterblocks that are not being used.
My question is that this card has decent HS covering the VRM's and ram. Will the HS be able to keep the vrm and ram cool enough during load if I rely on the airflow of my NZXT Switch 810 case that has a 120mm fan blowing across the pci-e area, if I throw a waterblock on the gpu only? Thanks, Greg
I've already done it with the blocks I had on the 680's, Anyhow I just left the stiffing plate on added heat sinks and a couple CPU cooling fans blowing on the cards, if you look at the hydro-copper the VRM's aren't connected to the loop it's just a separate piece of steel, lol I sure hope EK has the VRM's connected which I'm sure it will. Here's a photo of the Classified hydro-copper (VRM's aren't connected to the loop)
