I was just curious is all about people's displays. I'm looking to upgrade to a 4K display next year if the prices are right. Asus has one now for $3500. I'll wait for the sub $2000 price tag myself. Looking forward to playing with my classy 780 this weekend. See what kind of boost I will get and if it truly is twice the card the 580 is.

27" is too big for me though. I'd rather have more densely packed pixels, and my desk isn't big enough. >_> Meh, I also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't sold in europe. THIS. It also depends on how far away you sit from the monitor. I'd rather have pixel density than size. IE - 2560x1400 @ 20" > 1920x1080 @ 30". I'm just waiting for prices to come down a little bit more for the 120+hz monitors. Besides, multiple cards are pretty wasteful for 1 monitor; they would be better suited for multiple monitors. IMHO, multi monitors are terrible because of monitor edges and bezels. I'd rather have one long continuous monitor than 3 separates.

So my question is most of you here are gaming on self built 2 and 3 thousand dollar setups but only game on 1080 displays... Are you afraid to venture out past 1080 or just don't want to pay $1200 + for a 30 incher...Just curious. Ive been gaming on one for 3 years now and I would never put the effort into my system to only game on those tiny 23-24 inch displays they continue to dish out. Thats always amazed me that guys would buy 2 high end cards or even 3 only to game at 1080. Boggles my mind. Btw I have a 780 classy coming from Newegg on Friday should be a nice big boost over my 3Gb 580 lightning.
I don't know about other 1080p users but I've been using 120hz monitors for a number of years now and I really can't go back to 60hz monitors anymore. (120hz monitors only come in 1080p flavors unfortunately)
No, they don't :o
Oh lawdy, and IPS too...
27" is too big for me though. I'd rather have more densely packed pixels, and my desk isn't big enough. >_> Meh, I also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't sold in europe. [&o]
2560x1440 in a 27" is higher pixel density than 1920x1080 in 24". /offtopic

killuchen I thought about selling my Yamakasi 27" 2560x1440 for one of these :o That's actually the exact monitor I'm currenty using. With the strobing backlight (LightBoost as Nvidia calls it) motion blur is completely eliminated. It only works on 120hz though.

LN2 Power target goes up to 115% vs 100% for normal. Gotcha thanks! By any chance do you know why my core mhz on my first card is bouncing around between 1000-1340mhz while my second card stays at 1340? I would guess that since it was the card on the Normal bios it was throttling while the other card on the LN2 bios held steady. +1 Also, keep an eye on your temps. I'm curious how far you'll get on the clocks before throttling is a factor, that is if you stay with the stock bios.

I myself am using a QNIX 27" 1440p 120hz monitor. I could definitely use the horsepower. Went ahead and ordered a 780 classy today. Going to be buying a 2nd one soon. Put both of them under water and overclock them to the max. BTW Jacob, I saw you visiting the Lightning 780 thread earlier, you guys @ EVGA must of gotten in quite a few laughs. Classy sales skyrocketed today ;)

So there's this cool new game, not sure if you've heard of it, but it's called Battlefield 3. Ever play it? I'm using an Asus VG278HE with Lightboost hack. To make full use of it, the more easily I can stay over 120fps, the better. Lightboost takes this monitor to a whole new league by eliminating ghosting, I've actually noticed my performance in FPS games have shown a considerable improvement because of it. It's much easier to track the enemy.

LOL! Nice downgrade! I am currently running a QNIX QX2710 2560x1440p at 100 Hz. Best and cheapest monitor I ever bought and performs way better than my previous monitor, which was an Hazro HZ27WC (which had more BLB than the QNIX). And it overclocks well, though (the highest possible) 128 Hz is pretty dark. Calibrated (xrite) at 100 Hz it's perfect. Price was less than half of the Hazro.

So if the 780 Classified blocks are coming in sometime mid-month, does that mean the 780 Classy HC's won't be far behind? Those're what I'm waiting on before I start my next build. Hopefully those're in August as well so I can start on it before the next class semester starts.

People just a heads up. Even with classifieds there is a chance that at stock the cards won't reach 1,2V. Easy fix just get the classified voltage tool. There's just soo much OC headroom left in those cards. (they run 1267 @1,187 stable but i got a feeling 1300 isn't out of reach either) All in all i can't wait to put those beasts underwater to see how far they really can go.

Can someone from EVGA please verify if this product is going to be Newegg/EVGA store exclusive? I did a quick search of the other major e-tailers (Amazon, NCIX, TigerDirect, Rakuten) and none of them have any listings other than Amazon which has resellers selling them for well over $100 over MSRP. I have a strong suspicion those resellers are buying them from Newegg or the EVGA store and price gouging on Ebay and the Amazon marketplace. Newegg ran out of stock earlier this week and then got a new shipment in so I'm confused why they are getting new stock yet none of the other sellers have got any stock at all. Do they have some exclusive agreement with EVGA for the Classifeds? I am running out of patience and would get the Asus Direct CUII OC but no one has that in stock either at MSRP. And with the recent AMD price drop, I am hesitant to buy until I see if Nvidia will respond.

Going from 2560x1440p to 1920x1080 is considered a downgrade. Or do you consider GTX 780 to GTX 650 also not a downgrade.
