MaelstromOC Ditto DENTNU, they haven't been in stock on Newegg yet, just the product page is in place. It's so hard for me to not just buy it straight off EVGA's website, but I want to take some of the sting of being poor off of buying it lol. I too am using my Preferred Account. I was thinking about buying a 3rd from EVGA (dang Egg Pref Acct $2K limit, must think I'm broke or something ), but they never take my debit card and I don't want to put anything on my CC this month, so I'll have to settle for two from the Egg for now.

DENTNU thebski jimrun It's showing as OOS at the egg ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130943 ... but it's a very good sign they have the 780 Classified ACX finally on their site ... It was up and I signed up for auto notify. Now it is gone again. Not sure if that means anything or not. I hope they didn't take it down and because of that the auto notify list will be reset. I guess you can get to it through the link still, but it just doesn't show up when you go through the normal route of Video Cards -> Desktop -> GTX 780 -> EVGA, etc. It does for me I would recommend you delete your brower cookies. . . I'll try it, although they get cleared almost daily right before I launch BF3, so they shouldn't be too bad.

That's why I bought my backplate when they first became available lol. I knew once a decent supply of cards became available, the backplate would be the new "complaint" here.

Originally we had wanted to include it, however due to the fact that the backplate technically violates the PCI-E spec and also causes compatibility issues when the cards are installed in 3-way SLI mode, we decided to instead make it available separately and lower price of the card without the backplate. The images at Newegg are incorrect and we will update them.

I would think temps would get out of control fast with cards sandwiched (except for the bottom one).

Cards can only be a certain height (when looking at it in your case), and the back plate probably makes the card go just a couple mm taller than specs call for.

Yeah it's definitely possible, you'll just have 2 cards that run hot as opposed to one, and you'll need excellent case air flow. Mine barely taps 80C very rarely and they're running at 1280MHz at 1.2V. I have 5 fans in my case, 2 of them adjustable fyi.

Beyond tempting to dive in already, got the email alert when they went up in stock and had a pair in my cart ready to go, mouse hovering over checkout... But I'm going to hold out for the Hydrocoppers in august. Will the classy plates be compatible with the classified hydrocoppers as well?
