Not really, but with that OC, I would defiantly have your temp monitoring up for to make sure you are not cooking your processor. It will work your CPU like running prim95 24/7.

65-68 should be fine. I keep my CPU down at 4.5 Ghz for folding its a mild stable clock that keeps the temps lower.

Thanks for the invite from punchy. I plan on folding during chimp challenge. I folded in the past and enjoyed it, unfortunately i cant be a 24/7 folder like before. While doing test runs i noticed my temps were up to 75 degrees on 680 gtx's. So bumped fan speeds up to max and temps held at 58 degrees which i am ok with. Any tips on how to get more out of my rig as fah is on default settings which setup my 2 gpus and only 2 cores on my 8 core cpu. Estimated 67,000 ppd so far. I am throwing in my gtx 260 as well tomorrow and testing it along with my 680's so hope there is no conflicts. Any suggestions on how to go about this. I will have sli disabled and bridge off and hope it works. If it does then maybe another 15,000 ppd. Thanks

I had lots of issues trying to get my gtx280 to work with my 600 series card. It kept tossing bad vram memory errors and I could not get any GPU jobs to run at all. I didn't feel like fighting with it since the 200 series are like an oven when it comes to throwing heat and from what i have read, perform like monkey poo. I think you may end up with more trouble than they are worth too.

I'll scrap that idea about the 260 then.

there are GPU QRB's available but with a beta core that produces less points than is worth it for most users you'll have to wait until Core 17 goes mainstream (off beta) and gets more improvements 1.an increase in Points (rebenching) 2. openMM5,1 recompile (which would also increase it) and expect a new core after that like core 18 a New cuda core (once a a new JIT cuda compiler avail)

Hey Larry Welcome to the poo-flinging madness! You can add your EOC ID into your EVGA profile, so you have your folding points displayed under your profile name. Your ID is 446990, as seen here. EDIT: Not required for the competition lol. Just a helpful tip

drougnor Ok, what is the current best ppd setup, slot assignment wise? Beta, advanced or plain? best for SMP is Bigadv - if you're capable Drougnor for GPU nVidia: 500 series - beta - fetches me 7k More points with 570 (that's more gain than Id lose under smp) 600 series -no beta (because the Beta core will generally lose you points both on GPU and smp) ,ie 670 24k under beta - 28-40k under normal AMD : BETA
