For the advmethods and bigadv timing is important as points depend on how quickly you complete the WU. Bigadv needs to switch over 2 days in advance, and those doing the A3s probably about half a day in advance. That will allow the first totals from those WUs to count fo rthe CC. Everyone else can run their WU right up to 99% and stop until the CC begins. Once the CC begins, turn on your client and we will get a big first update surge.

I just switched 4 clients to EVGApes. I know it is pretty early but I have 20 more clients to go and don't want to wait till last minute.
 
Besides I want to make sure that we fold 10 a3 core work units under EVGApes name before CC starts. (in case this hasn't been done yet)
 
I checked fah stats for EVGApes for last week - few machines are chugging along making about 15-17k points per day. 
 
Tomorrow should get about 8k more if ten a3's have been already folded under this name.
 
Wish we could get to 5 milion points a day before the CC even starts!

Another 8 clients have been switched. I do get 100% completion rate of a3 work units so I figured it is good idea to fold up as many work units as possible ahead of the CC, so later if people have some issues with thier machines and won't be able to finish on time we will not go under 80% completion rate and loose bonus points thanks to those extra work units...

Thanks for the reminder, I was questioning pausing work units at 99% before the start.  Not anymore, lol.

1 word of advice this year be sure to start your clients atleast the day before CC starts so we don't waste time folding the wu's and just dump them in the first time cycle we can.

I expect to switch my clients over around  9pm my local time (12 pm PDT) on May 3 so I can get a bigadv in in one of the first updates on the 5th and hopefully a second one late on the 7th. Also, if I get the gpus switched, I'll complete a few work units ahead of time and be able to verify EVGApes is getting the points.

Gives a bit of time to make sure all settings are correct. Wouldn't be good to have a problem during the challenge, get it over with before the race starts.

I have already switched over and it is running. How do we track our individual contributions to the team and the contest? Sorry to ask dumb questions but I am kind of new to this. been folding on my own with my one rig (i7 920 with 2 EVGA 216 GTX over clocked editions.

I think only with tools like HFM or fahmon. No statistics are provided by Stanford for every single client that is folding under the same name. Would be a nice feature, but would also extremely increase the server load at fah stats server :)

Folding for EVGApes does nothing to the poins you have folded before, you just won´t make new points during that time. If you have folded for a different team before the points you have accumulated there stay there and you have to start from 0 again

Im new with this folding thing. When signing up it asks me, if I need a passkey or SMP. I have no idea if I do need it or not.

I will be using 3x computers to help out.
