Sajin WTH. Do I need to sell my 3 580's for two 590's? That's up to you my brother, lol. Keep in mind that the scores I posted were only with my 24/7 overclock of 4.189GHz. My cpu is stable at 4.6GHz, I just haven't found the need to crank it up yet since I can pretty much play any game or benchmark with very low voltages while staying nice and cool, and near silent. The hottest any of the four gpu's got during any benchmark was 68C, and that was with the fans running at 85% and I could barely even hear them. If Nvidia ever figures out how to let us safely increase the voltage on these 590's another whole world is going to open up. I'm able to overclock each 590 by themselves to 700MHz, but when in SLI, they aren't stable above 680MHz. I think a little more voltage, and I'd be able to get them in the mid 700's for sure, possibly higher.

As you can see by these scores the highest clocks do not always meen the highest benches. It takes a well ballanced machine to get high benchs. It also takes enough power to power all your equipment.

Ironkidz Huh? What does that mean? You think its because of my power supply? lol.... still makes no sense but thanks for trying.... I dont think its about power supply. There are a lot of oc parameters that you cant see in the result page but will make a big difference in the final score. f.e. you can run a cpu 4.5 ghz with 133x 34 but with 180x 25 the score is much higher. also uncore clock is very important for good 3dmark11 score. you can try that yourself by changing uncore clock from 3200 to 3600 will already give you a few hundred more points in 3dmark11. actually in my latest benchmarks I am using bclk of 230 or higher and uncore always around 4000. regards Wumbel

I am not saying it is a PSU problem just using that as an example. When I was only running a single 1200w PSU or a 1200w and a VGA 650w PSU I did not get as high a score as when I ran 2 1200w PSUs. Also as I increase my clocks many times I get a lower overall score. Heat also has alot to do with the score. When I can get outside air that is below freezing I get much higher scores.

Yeah, there's a whole lot more to it than just simple clock speeds. Good power, matched components, cool temps, and a good overclock all add up to your overall performance. If any one of those components is off it will decrease your overall performance.
There's a few things going on with my system. First is the overclock. I've spent countless hours perfecting my overclock and have found 4.2 (4.189) to be a perfect clock speed for an excellent performance/efficiency ratio. At 4.189 (200x21) I only need 1.28Vcore so my temps stay very low. I also have awesome ram which makes a difference. I have a 2000MHz Dominator GT set that comes with native C7 timings. This kit was only available direct from Corsair and isn't sold anymore, that I know of.
In addition to that, since the voltage is locked on the 590's, there will be a point where higher clocks will actually start to hurt performance because they aren't getting the power they need. I found 680MHz to be the sweet spot for my two cards in SLI with stock voltage. The hottest any gpu got during the benchmarks was 68C.
So, as you can see, there's a lot more that goes into a high benchmark score than just high clocks. Anybody can crank up clocks and voltages but getting it all *just right* takes a bit of know how and a LOT of patience.

That or the drivers throttle GTX 590 performance over 740 MHz and greater than 0.963v in 3DMark 11. Which makes benching it lame and overclocking almost useless for it. I am attempting to hit 17,000 today on them. So, as you can see, there's a lot more that goes into a high benchmark score than just high clocks. Anybody can crank up clocks and voltages but getting it all *just right* takes a bit of know how and a LOT of patience. You are really sounding condescening to this guy, not everyone knows about the performance limitation on the GTX 590 in 3DMark. Other benchmark and games, such as Heaven 2.5 or Metro2033 on the other hand has no such limitation and his OC would definitely shine.

I'm certainly not trying to come off as condescending to anyone. He asked how my score could be higher than his when he's running higher clocks so I simply answered his question. He's running the exact same cards as we are so as far as limitations with 3DMark, we are all experiencing it, even though I was unaware of such limitation until now also. I knew Vantage hampered the 590's severely but didn't think it was happening with 11 also.

Yes its really bad/lame. Anyways, I need to give my CPU a rest, that much voltage for too long just kills benchmarks.
