580 sc's are sketchy at best. vanillas seem to be better.... example: my latest run non sc edition i have had 6 cards to play with and all the sc's sucked at over clocking..(just my personal experience only!)

I am having issues with one of my cards hitting over 1900Mhz :( I have a few ideas to solve it. but working it out. It is also not all that cold over here :(
I'm in the same boat buddy, my SC's are weak, I need far too much voltage to keep them going hard, wasn't able to get 1900+ either also my memory craps out with anything over ~sad panda~
However I think it's a low "roll" card, I can undervolt it to run at stock SC clocks with 1.038v so higher end "real" VID.
Saw some nice vanilla cards with 0.96v to 1.0v VID over on XS, those cards are amazing doing 1000core/2300mem+ at 1.075v

I would love to see your template for your CPU to hit 4.69GHz.. I hit 4.63 and hit a block wall.

Hopefully I can convert this non-physx run into a physx score....cpu/ram are giving me problems again...and LN2 is dangerously low. If not tonight, it will have to be Monday when airgas opens.

I totally agree, even though I was coming to this conclusion before ordering the 2nd SC (seeing all the info that was out on the VIDs already), I did the SC anyway and got another 1.082 VID. Baaahhhh, curse the 1.082 VID, who wants vanilla ice cream!

well i just completed a run at 975 vs my old 970 clock... but the GPU score was a touch lower than my personal best.
not sure what i need to do... other than moar powah! temps were fine low 60's. 100% fan, 1.150v.
an adjustable DICE tray to press against the vapor chamber might not be a bad idea... would cool the fins considerably with direct contact... but... that's getting pretty inventive for air cooling on the cheap.

they're in the ceiling and the heat is on. currently it's freezing here... so i popped open the window just now and but a fan in it facing in. that should do it in short order. i've been folding for a few hours and just realized both my 580 and my CPU are both hovering at 100% bobbing back and forth between 53-54*C. weird. i think i see a wormhole opening to another dimension.

sounds like perfect benching weather to me! "fan in window" another great "quick fix" back in the days...i would use my portable ac unit and point it in the case.
