kicks off on the 24th stats are not updated so I cannot give you exact numbers teams are apart sleinous you will most likely be on PST unless PST has caught up a bit that's where they are probably going if by chance they did then some would probably be dispersed to MST since it's lower than EST and CST (but not by too much) ------------------------------- update current bottom two other 1.1M PST is at 1.7M MST is at 2.6M so split at moment will go 1M to PST and about 100K to MST

I'd don't know myself...it most likely be EST or PST We'll find out from troy8d soon enough. shouldn't matter if your up and running 24/7 but if you don't know and can't be around start early so you're at max just before the contest

troy8d Sleinous Likely same here considering the speed we will fold the required points in haha Due to the larger than expected PPD, we're going to bump up the finish line a little to give people a chance. Sounds like a good idea troy! if we could get more out in Other and PST, we could make this a 4 way shootout, because other would be used to balance the bottom teams (even CST)

I was referring to troy8d's finish-line comment above. Instead of fixing a points goal, why not make it a fixed-duration race?

Because all other contests of our own team where/are time based. The TZC was original a points race and I think it's nice to keep it that way.

if the teams would prefer it. I suppose troy8d will change it. traditionally wasn't it a point race in the past? I don't mind going to mid Nov.

So far, only ONE major error - L67swap, you NEED to have at least one work unit folded under our team number (111065) for me to add you to the stats system for the contest. Everyone else that I've run into issues with, it was a simple matter of checking capitalization on the names, so I'm getting close to having the first set of stats uploaded for Troy to start working with . d

We've added new late additions in the past with minimal interruption. And, I've even figured out how to easily go back and add the historical data for those late additions, too. *grin* Just don't take TOO long to jump in, huh? d

No worries. Just wanted to get the word out as I'm adding names into the system. Also, for this contest, please don't count on my usual prompt responses and reactivity to problems. We're in SUPER crunch mode at work - They're making us attempt the impossible by requiring 400 pcs to be refreshed - Tho, the LETTER of the rule is 'deployed' (AKA, in box on desk STILL counts) by the end of the year. This is with a 5 man team, 2 of which will be new hires and needing training, and we'll have at least 1 temp, also needing training. Needless to say, I'll be doing OT and unable to monitor as actively as usual. THAT said, I've also just put into place a layer of automation that monitors the stats system for failures and restarts each component if they DO fail. So, THAT'S a plus for this time around!

a start time is all i need to know at this point. im hammering these smps to reprime my passkey and i need to know when i have to switch back of to the bigadv so it doesnt drop to early. im not stopping folding but strategy is strategy.

Best bet is to have your systems humming along by 00:00 (12:00 am) on the 24th, EST. Troy has been known to pick a random start time in the 24 hour period to cut down on attempts at strategic starts. That's what I plan to do, at any rate. d

I plan to have my rigs folding by Sunday. This way they are all ready to turn in WU's by Monday as they get done. I've already started one rig up early to make sure its new GPU addition work correctly. And I got a P4 rig that can penny in a few points if that is I can Linux and FAH working together. A SB i7 2600 will be the backup point producer to the QX6700 & its 3 GPU's.

10/21/11 - Due to the large turn out for this contest, we are going to increase the point goal to 50 million. It should take teams somewhere around 14 to 21 days to complete depending on how they perform.
- Reminder to all participants that a minimum of 100,000 points is require to qualify for winning any of the folding gifts. If you cannot reach this level due to the limitations of your hardware, you must contact me before the contest begins to remain eligible.
- Many people are asking about the exact start time of the contest and the exact start time will remain unknown except to drougnor and myself. It could start at any point on the 24th...in any time zone.
