Folding against the CST will be a futile attempt. Especially with Madrias on our side. I can already feel the intense heat of GX2 exhaust getting stronger even 400 miles away, and during the night I see the slightest orange glow no doubt from the heat sync's. So try as you may, We will be standing at the finish line waiting to congratulate you.

GO CST!!!!!!!!

Oh, yeah, that's right I did point the GX2's your way.  Yeah, they're hot runners, but I have 2 plans for them.  One depends on 2 people other than me, and the other is a backup plan in case they pull a trick to delay a shipment until after the challenge.  Not that I would expect them to do such a thing, but I have to at least have 2 primary plans so that when the battle starts, I can kill both plans and make up my own on the way.

This explains why it's still 85 degrees out in October. Can't I get you to point them toward the EST team.

They'll still heat up the air equally.  At most you'll lose 5 degrees.

Signed up for the bEST team.
Thanks to Xavier Zepherious for the PM, work has been insane so have not been visiting the forums lately and most likely would have missed this contest.
I will dig up some items to donate (maybe a Xbox, not a 360, it was used for XBMC as the DVD drive did not work)

Go CST!

Just out of curiosity, how long are we expecting it to take before we reach 30 million points? (Other time zones needn't reply since it'll take you guys longer of course).  I only have a single GTX 460 to fold on so 30 million points is an incomprehensible number on my limited scale.

Yeah, it would take me almost 3 years to reach 30 million....

Re:Official 2011 Time Zone Challenge Announcements 2011/10/12 17:10:34 (permalink)
considering team EVGA puts out 20Mil per day
work it out

work on 200 folders ...20% of current folders
probably responsible for more than 20% of the output

20% of 20mill is 4 million per day - 4 teams - 1million on average

but like I said the 20% more likely to produce 40-50% of output per day

which means about 2 million per day(per team)..and about 15 days of folding...and it could be shorter

example MST
barbossa and horvat 750k and 250k - 1mill ppd
(thats just 2 folders that are on the MST team)

We have 102 entries so far (up to Paintforbreakfast) if I have calculated it correctly.
I removed one double entry from EST and I think neoninja68 (EST) PPD of 700,000 is too high (probably his month total,  Edit: I calculated 25K PPD for him).

          Signed up  |  Estimated PPD
EST   :   42           |     ~2,020K
CST   :   27          |     ~1,617K
MST   :    7           |     ~1,224K
PST   :   16          |      ~  778K

Other:   10          |      ~  616K

other is Europe, Australia anything outside the time zones

they will be placed upon the lowest PPD teams to to better balance the teams (that's what I assume) since there is no OTHER Time zone

and most would go to PST right now... if that's the pattern

MST -7 members and 1.22mil PPD.... WOW!!
Thanks Barbarossa and Horvat (the team)

the A-TEAM - barbarossa, horvat, MrASh, Punchy (you could add on tanner2)

now I wish I had my new CPU and MB (it be nice to triple my output)

remember guys we need 200 signup for the second rig to be awarded
so do what you can to get the word out

He typically likes to be a late, dramatic entry.    (I know he's been busy, hopefully he comes out for it again this year).

And obviously the power cost is the other $3000 so that when we kick your tush in one day, you can afford to shut it down.

Guess I don't get my own time zone this year eh?  :P  I could probably put out quite a few points, but the challenge specifically says that you must own the hardware so it will just be my poor little 460 and i7 940.....

Why would you buy 9 40gb hard drives?   (although $8.99 for a hard drive is the cheapest I've seen)

I'll be ready to go I start folding again before i knew about the contest. I let my best friend use my rig in till LGA 2011. Cause he didn't have a gaming machine to use his was a old core 2 duo with a old pci graphics card. I'm currently using my desktop replacement to fold. A Nice core I7 but has heating problems so only uni. And GPU3 folding. Hopefully i'll be a help to est but I have a few rigs I can use since I have roommates now.

The Central Time Zone can talk all the trash in the world, but resting on the laurels of past successes is not going to cut it this year.  The latest numbers from the registration show that Central is in for a world of hurt as the big boys from the Mountain Time Zone battle it out against the growing horde of Eastern Time Zone folders in a close PPD race.  In fact, it seams the only thing Central has to brag about thus far is their firm grasp on 3rd place and commanding lead over the Pacific Time Zone.

With 10 days remaining before the contest begins, can Central stage an epic comeback to remain undefeated in the Time Zone Challenge?  Only time will tell...
