Punchy
I'm not talking about actuals, I'm talking about estimates ("reported PPD" in the spreadsheets now).  EST's estimate jumped suddenly from 3.3M to nearly 4M at the last minute.  I think I know why and I think it's really poor form to jump in at the last minute and skew things.

Due to the limitations of google docs, I had to manually tell it "hey, there are some new entries to calculate.  I mostly stopped doing this over the weekend as I was busy putting the contest stats together.  You can, however, put most of the blame on rjbelans.

Well, that's no different than usual. Everybody seems to blame me. That is unless it's something being broken. Then it's either Moose or Joe.

Wow am i missing something here. Is this a contest, yes but some are forgetting what its all about. Sure i want to win damn straight. But am not going to get mad about another team pulling ahead because of more points that they were supposed to have. Isn't the point to get more people involved and for everyone to try and find more gear to fold on in the first place? If that means adding more ppd to one team or another who cares its finding a cure that matters.

I for one am glad to see all folding going on here and want to thank everyone that put in alot of time to make this happen and let them know most of us are having fun helping the cause, no matter which team wins. Thanks again guys.

You know I'm only joking...clearly just trying to hide the fact that I hadn't maintained it the last day or two before the contest started.

Looks like there was a hangup on my end of things with the stats - I just kicked things free at 8:14 EST.  Hopefully the next download goes fine. . . Finding out in less than 5 minutes...

  • A time-delineated graph of the teams progress has been added to the site and can be found here.
    • You can select the zoom level in the upper left.
    • The bar across the bottom allows you to select the time/date range to view.
    • Hopefully I fixed the data.  If not we'll have to wait for drougnor to wake up and get the rest fixed.  It should automatically update as soon as he is able to get to it.
  • If you have any further suggestions of stats you would like to see please let me know.
  • KRAM has been removed from this and future folding contests per his request.

I PM'd Kram...
I hope at least I persuaded him to continue folding in later contests

I hate to see anyone leave...
lets see if the community can make a difference and at least convince kram36 to continue in later contests

Out of curiosity, could we get a count of all work units folded during this contest from each team and a total for all teams?

He was removed from future contests that I am a part of by myself, not his own wishes.

You don't sign up for a contest and then quit it on day one because you were unaware of how things were clearly announced to be taking place.  In all honesty, you don't quit for any reason.  Its just selfish to quit over something so petty...and the people that suffer for it are his teammates.  We're all here to fold for a good cause...the goal is to get people excited/involved/folding more, the contest/competition is secondary.

what gets me is he complained about an issue that hit my team worse than any other , because we have big droppers.

I think we tried to explain thing in the thread to him.

Its an unfortunate situation, but you can't make everyone perfectly happy.  We just have to do the best we can operating within the constraints we have.

I doubt he is interested in your explanation.  This is the first time I've looked up his stats in detail, but http://folding.extremeove...ry.php?s=&u=521689 clearly shows that he timed his WUs to drop at what he thought was the right time.  It certainly explains his volatile reaction.

Its a bit sad...we don't organize contests to get people shut off their rigs for a day or two.

Mine has only gone down once a month for updates (win updates) that forces a shutdown

otherwise Im up 24/7..haven't played a game in so long I think Im gonna burst hence the new build (sandy-e ) next month. Then at least 1 rig is folding while I can game.

I might switch back and forth between teams (nvidia forums have only 12 active folders) just to keep the other team active and alive...trying to get them organized there

man its hard trying to keep up with my usual PPD with Battlefield 3 out. :(

First time I played Skyrim I followed a rabbit into a woddy area on a snowy mountain and punched the poor thing to death and got lost.

thanks for the gesture

1mill puts you in top 10 or near top 10 (the team's rank is in the 250's)...team 142900 Nvidia U2U forums
everyone leaves (not much support from forum staff or nvidia).... some came here.... some went to trubritar
I came here for the fun and the organization

the way the forum is decked out there tends not to help organized(organizing) folding (lumped it in with Cuda apps)
needs forum changes to make it more palatable for getting the message out plus support from Nvidia

Madrias - I will be able to provide the WU totals, but I can't do that right now.  It requires me to set up the system to pull those numbers from the start, but I don't have the time to make that adjustment until Saturday.  If you really want me to get the totals, let me know and I'll pull the start numbers and keep track for the end of the contest.

**edit** Also, I need to apologize - I had a tooth yanked the night before, so last night I passed out wicked early.  Putting in required OT at work, but I'm trying to check in at lunch.  If there's anything I need to focus on, PLEASE PM me and I'll do my best to get to it ASAP.
