It's a rumor though...
Nvidia and Apple might be getting back together after a couple years apart. According to a report from Bloomberg, a job description for a position with the green team (since revised) offered candidates the potential to "help produce the next revolutionary Apple products."

I just don't think there's enough interest in the population for Macs. That's my opinion.     ;)

True, the reason being the rumor that "macs don't have as many issues" is still lurking out there, yet they are easier to hack than PC.

No, in certain workplaces Macs are what the workflow is done on. It's been like that forever in some cases. Mac is purposed for certain things specifically. Your reason on the other hand does not seem to grasp that.

This ^.  Our graphics department refuses to use anything but Macs even though Adobe CC is available on Windows also.  And its funny that in our corporate environment the Mac user is such a small percentage of total users but they account for 50% of the "issues" here.  The hoops and loops of getting AD to work and having to use 3rd party solutions instead of standard GPOs.

I think it would be great as we need another Desktop OS that is not so forceful to the home users.

So you're telling me $2000+ Apple computers will finally be able to run games at a decent framerate?

*YES* - I am talking about the general public in them believing that Mac users are not as prone to getting a virus compared to PC users. What you mention might be true, but MACs are indeed easier to hack than PCs. And, that is the truth. Don't believe me? Just walk into staples and start talking to customers, it's hilarious.

if this is true, all it says to me is that Intel is not meeting the performance Apple wants and AMD is not meeting the power efficiency Apple wants.

95% of all computer users are low information people. Mac is no anomaly. People just have little want to know how computers work. Statistically, there are probably 50x more Windows users that are just as rock stupid.

Macs ARE less prone to viruses (statistically) even if they are easier to hack.  The driving force is that less than 10% of the computer market is Mac - so it's much more lucrative to target Windows users.  It's not that Macs are better it's that there are much less of them.  If there were a larger market share of Mac computers they would be targeted more.

Also on another note...  There's a very high probability that if you're in a Staples buying a computer you aren't well informed about computers.

Yep, and so a lot of those people think buying MAC will allow them to dodge the issues that PCs encounter.

I used to work there many many years ago to get people to buy the warranties on the computers, and yes you're correct, those that go in there to shop for a computer, don't know much about computers.

A cross section of 10%... doesn't sound like a lot to me. Your narrative doesn't quite hold up to the numbers.

You're right it's not. The standard consumer (you and I, we are not standard consumers) would think that a MAC can't get viruses and they're only made for PC, so buying a MAC would be better(???) because they'll never get a virus. We know that's not true. I think everyone on here has had maybe 1 or 2 conversations about this with people we know. I can't help but chuckle when they make that comment. When I'm at the stores in the software section, I like to walk passed Norton for Mac, it's amusing.
