    I'm confused as to why Nvidia would put work into old cards and who would still be using something so old

    Never mind, anyway lot of people complain why they don't support older models.
    It's good because they write that and they should continue to write drivers for 2-3 years old architecture same as before, in past.
    Not people with Kepler to have less fps in some games than R9-290X.

    Although they're no good for gaming they still perform well in a workplace environment.
