I think in 2015 NVIDIA will not launch only reference TITAN II.
GTX780Ti with 512bit would be much much better ....but NVIDIA will fix that injustice in next circle.
4000 CUDA core and 512 bit with 8GB Video Memory example... That can be 50% stronger card than Titan Black + 10% on EVGA fabric OC.
Guys who want to play games on 4K easy can prepare easy because such card in SLI would be enough for normal gaming on 4K I think.
NVIDIA and prepare card for 4K with 8GB Video Memory.

Not sure how other feel but I was really hoping that the 800/titan II would be 20nm not 28nm. Guess we will have to wait and see.

For me is more important performance and price than size of chip.
I think price of Titan II will stay same as Titan and Titan Black.

Only lot of people have Titan and Titan Black even in SLI their performance and memory are enough for longer time.
Because of that NVIDIA should be smart before offer some premium chip. Not before AMD show their.

I'm worried that Nvidia didn't learn from their 780/780ti and titan/titan black stupidity and will attempt it again. But consumers have learned and if Nvidia does perform this that they won't sell.

Re: Nvidia Preparing “GTX Titan II” – Over 4000 CUDA Cores and 512-Bit Bus 2014/07/13 06:02:15 (permalink)
One part was stupid other not.
It was good because people who wish card for gaming only get same performance as Titan Black.
Stupid is because maybe they should give sign to people and prepare customers nicely if they want to buy locked or unlocked chip and maybe little memory miss. But It would be excellent if in 2015 NVIDIA launch card with same CUDA only cheaper version without double precision or with less memory or both... I don't know what they can offer 4GB maybe.
Again that is not enough maybe but card strictly for gamers could be 150-200$ cheaper. From other side I saw one graphic where Radeon R9-300 series top model is in position with GM210 above series GTX800 with GM204.
If Radeon launch reference card for 600$ and price fast drop on 550$ NVIDIA can't ask 1000$ for 10% stronger or similar performance.

I would be happy with just a Titan or a Titan Black at this point the 780/780 TI both lack the logical processing cores that the Titans, as well as the quadros have. The results of the 780/780 TI with some 3d modeling software packages will crash while zooming in close to your model...

Uh, no, consumers only learn if they give up on reasons to upgrade. Blame fellow customers that speak with wallets by purchasing overpriced regardless of what the rest of us think; they give companies both justification and incentive.  The only way to teach nVidia a lesson is to boycott, but we have too many EVGA sheep that talk with no substance.

For example, getting GTX880 SLI and not Titan Z isn't teaching nVidia a lesson because they still get our money via brand loyalty.  You would have to go to AMD/Intel to teach nVidia a lesson, as if you're not loyal and appalled by their pricing strategy, since buying their brand only shows your support of whatever they do.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

For many that would be like cutting your own head off because you don't like your neighbour......and that is the problem, brand loyalty as you say.

Seeing as AMD has either, more security than Google about information leaks or no plans on a 300 series, I don't see not buying nvidia as a option. They are supposedly working on upgrading the Hawaii series to compete with the 780ti/titan black which will soon be replaced by the 800 series. It feels like AMD is always just a step behind Nvidia. Nvidia releases 780, a year later (?) AMD releases 290x, Nvidia shortly there after releases 780ti, AMD is still at work on 295x while Nvidia is working out the 800 series. I might be wrong, but its just how I feel.

We use revit 2014, 3dsmax 2014 and Maxwell at the office with no issues of viewport speed in high-polygon models with our 780GTX rig. The 780GTX actually runs a lot smoother than the Quadro K5000 we have in the render box we just got 2 weeks ago.

Looks like GTX880 will be about 15% stronnget than GTX780Ti Classified. About 20% than GTX780Ti.
That  mean maybe Titan II came with excellent 45-55% performance increase + EVGA fabric OC.
Are you impatient. Me little. Because I have strong card, with GTX780 I would be very impatient to see.
