I have to agree that their shipping and handling charges are above and beyond the norm. At times they are outright ridiculous. You'd think that the warehouse workers have the 'Midas Touch' and have to wear gloves so whatever they touch doesn't turn to gold.

So EVGA decides to "give away for FREE" the new Power Link. Yet it is not FREE! I hate this type of marketing hype to no end.
 
Sure $10.00 is a great price and I'm going to purchase one, but I'm not getting it for free so stop calling it free. I figure $10.00 is around their break-even price for both the product and US domestic shipping cost.
 
If they wanted to make them FREE they easily could have. Would have zero effect on their profits for the last quarter of the year.

The asterisk next to it made sure to alert that there is a note. The asterisk that corresponded to the original clesrly stated that shipping is not free, the product is.

Many companies run promotions where you pay for the shipping, but get a free product.

Shipping it as a first class parcel in a bubble wrap envelope would probably be adequate and be much more cost effective.
Ten dollars for shipping is overpriced.

Ten dollars for shipping a very small item is a actually little high.
An economy shipping option like amazon or newegg provides is something that EVGA needs to implement for all it's products.

It will probably come in a bubble wrap envelope. That is like $2-3 for postage fee.

Depends on the retail product packaging, I doubt they will just send the plug loose... USPS priority mail small flat rate box (8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8") is $6.80 to anywhere in US. It may not fit in there though.. I know from just last week or so that a Samsung 850 EVO SSD in retail packaging wont fit in one of those small flat rate boxes. The USPS supply those boxes for free btw.

They also have a flat rate padded envelope (12.5" x 9.5") which is $6.80 shipping, but only if you use their envelopes. I sent a Samsung 850 EVO in my own padded envelope (same size) through Paypal about a week ago, and it cost $8.40 via priority mail, and that's a discounted rate with Paypal, and to a nearby state.
 
USPS put their rates up recently, so $9.99 shipping does not appear to be that excessive at all.

It wasnt a sale, it was an offer for anyone that purchased a 1000 series card prior to October 31st. You would need to go to the offer page on the evga main site to submit for the offer. I dont know if the offer is still allowing submissions at this time.

I'll stop beating a dead horse because like I already stated I am purchasing one, I think $10 is more than fair, and I'd like to make some friends here.
I'm experiencing slight artifacts/flickering from my 1080 SC. I'll post in the proper forum. 

I find it really sad that when EVGA has Promotion like this we have so many people that complain like a child in a toy store screaming I want that I want that not knowing that someone has to pay for what they are screaming about that only ends up in the bottom of their toy box. Seems that their are so many now in our world that want everything for free because they think the world owns them. People see Free to them this means that the company has to pay for their gas to drive and pick it up or even buy their Plane Ticket and Cab Fare to go pick it up at the company headquarters.
"a company as big as EVGA" EVGA is not a big company like Sears or Coca-Cola, they are a small company that provides main stream devices for users who build (Assemble) computers and other small devices they are supported by it's consumer and if the consumer stop buying from EVGA they would have to close their doors. They are not a Mass Production Company that provides hardware to HP or Dell or even IBM. They may have small ties that provide some hardware to places like Best Buy. OK End of Rant Number Two.

It costed evga $1.36 to ship Thermal pad kit in a yellow bubble wrap envelope. I bet the powerlink will be shipped using same method. Lot's of people would gladly pay $10 fee over $30+ to buy evga powerlink.
