using the H70 with Gentle Typhoon push pull config, works like a charm and very easy to install, have had my chip up to 5.50 on the H70, running 5.0 daily, my idle temps are 35,32,34,34...load temps in vantage or gaming hit mid 60's, saw one core hit 82' during 20 linx runs at 5.00

hot damn, what batch of i7 2600k's do you have? I might hafta poke around microcenter for it! i read some reviews where people were struggling to get 4.5 stable on air, but 5.5 with the H-70? crazyness!

batch # is L041B229, I have no idea if it a good, bad, or in between batch to be honest, now I don't think you would want to be doing a whole lot at 5.50 on the H70 and expect not to see a crash, I just wanted to see if it would boot there or not, Gigabyte has released a new bios, F8X that has now brought the multiplier up to 59

and nah I don't plan on doing heavy overclocking, I ended up getting a samsung 23" 2ms 1080p monitor instead of the bigger dell one (had enough for the 30" with enough left over for my new build but my mom's waterbed burst so I gave her 1k towards her new serta bed)...

sigh...

is aite i guess, got it for 249.99... but...

...is what i really wanted. anyways, no real need to go crazy overclocking on the cpu or gpus until i can upgrade. 4.4ghz should be fine, maybe 5 if i'm lucky.

You would get Equal Performance with an H50 as you would with an H70 as many reviews have shown. The only major differences in the H50/70 are the H70 has a Smaller waterblock, and the Waterlines are flexible(unlike the stationary water lines on the H50) And also the H50 is about 40 bucks cheaper.    Just My 2 cents of the overpriced H70. =)

Also H50 in Push/Pull config is awesome. =)

Same performance? Review one  Review two Review three

I'd actually go for the AP-29 (or above) fans.  The H70 will benefit greatly from the added performance compared to the AP-15 (especially if you overclock) due to the thickness of the radiator and high FPI, and if 36.5 DBA is too loud for you, you can easily lower it if you plug the fans into a motherboard header.

The AP-29 has a 0.22A (2.64W) running current so two will be no problem for one motherboard fan header which supports 1A (12W, some ASUS boards have headers that support more).  The only reason to use one header is if you use or want to use the others.
