    Try this...

#1 Create a system restore point.

    #2 Download & Install CCleaner & Driver Sweeper 3.2.0.

#3 Remove all NVIDIA software from add/remove programs.

#4 Remove all Creative/Realtek sound software from add/remove programs.

#5 Remove Precision X/Afterburner if installed, make sure to select "no" to saving profiles when asked.

    #6 Reboot into safe mode.

#7 Run driver sweeper 3.2.0, check mark Creative - Sound, NVIDIA - Display, NVIDIA - PhysX & Realtek - Sound, select Analyse button, if a list of entries pop up select the Clean button, when asked to reboot select Cancel. Do the scan again to make sure all entries are removed/deleted.

#8  Run ccleaner, select the registry tab, select scan for issues button, select fix selected issues button, when asked to backup the registry select "no" (we made a restore point earlier, we don't need to worry about backing up the registry entries.), select fix all selected issues button. Do the scan again to make sure all entries are removed/deleted.

#9 Reboot PC into normal windows mode.

    #10 Install sound drivers.

    #11 Reboot PC.

#12 If sound is working install GPU drivers. Make sure to do a clean install...
    1. Download & save 344.75 driver to your desktop.
    2. Run the 344.75 graphics installer located on your desktop.
    3. Select custom advanced install, under custom installation options uncheck all options except physx system software, if you are using audio over HDMI please select the HD Audio driver, if you have a 3D capable monitor and would like to use 3D at some point select the 3D Vision driver also, check mark perform clean install, then click next to install the driver, reboot when asked.
    4. Re-install Precision X/Afterburner if you want.
    #13 Report back with results.

In addition, certain motherboards which feature an onboard audio controller will disable the onboard audio controller if it detects the presense of another audio controller (such as the internal audio codec in a GT 640) installed in your PC..To correct this, you will need to go into your motherboard BIOS and change the setting "Onboard Audio" from "Auto" to "Enabled"..This will force the onboard audio controller to always be enabled even if there is another audio device present in your PC..See the NVIDIA Support Knowledgebase and search the terms "no audio" and/or "no sound" for more possible solutions.
