Hey there,

I just updated the BIOS on my Micro2 from v2.01 to v2.02 and everything works like a charm except one thing.

Before the update it was possible to set the HDD boot order in the bios under the "Boot" tab. I have two SSDs in the machine with two different OS'es on there and changed the boot order if necessary. Now that option is gone and I can only set the "First Boot Priority" to HDD, but I can't select the specific HDD anymore. This means that the SSD on the smallest SATA port always boots and I have to unplug one or the other which is really no long term solution. :(

Does anybody else experience this? Am I just stupid and the option moved somewhere else? oO

Have you tried turning off the PC completely and then turning it back on?

Have you tried resetting your bios via a jumper or reset switch? I had this problem when I turned on RAID mode in my bios by accident, only way for my boot drives to show up again was to reset my BIOS.

Multiple times since it's the only way to get into the BIOS ;) The option is still missing sadly. :(

I did. I even reset everything to default and reflashed the 2.02 BIOS just to be sure, still nothing there. I know the 2.01 BIOS has the option so I really don't get why the option is missing now....

I decided to do this and that option is gone and I don't think it's right. To fix this for my PC required a lot of work.

Were you having issues on 2.01? If no, just flash back to 2.01.

Better yet open a Support Ticket so that EVGA can correct the Bios.
They have corrected in the Past for the X99 and even the X79 Motherboards so let them know of the issue so they can correct it.
Also do you have CSM Enabled or Disabled in the Bios?

Also if you are on Windows 10 then you are going to see some new Duel Boot Issues, mostly with older Windows 7 & 8 under a Windows 10 OS that is.

So, for all future readers, I """"fixed"""" this.

I tried to follow some of the comments and did the following:
  1. Load Defaults while running 2.02, F10, reboot
  2. Load BIOS from file, reinstall 2.02 from USB, reboot
  3. Leave everything as is, plug in an additional USB stick/drive, reboot
  4. This triggered the "Select USB drive boot order" menu option for me and with it, pufff, the "HDD boot order" menu item...

So yeah, really not sure why or what, but it's here now. Thanks to everyone who was kind enough to reply in this thread! :)

So that you do know the first rule and the instructions from EVGA as well is to Set your Bios Back to the Default or Optimized settings BEFORE you update the Bios. Only an FYI.

I know, I did so before doing the upgrade from 2.01 to 2.02 (my board came with 2.01). Please excuse if this wasn't made clear in the OP. :)

To test this I set everything back to default except for my M.2 which had to be enabled as that is my system drive. It is strange to me that the BIOs update disables the M.2 drive. You then have to manually enable it, save the changes, power down, then power back on to see the Windows Boot Manager again.
