Had to shut down yesterday, when restarted nothing and is always waiting. Was at 38% when shut down. Never even picked up where left off. What to do? EDIT: this kind of message over and over all that changes is the attempt number "Attempt #11 to get work failed, and no other work to do. Waiting before retry. "

I´m having problems getting work as well, but usually after restarting the client, on the 3rd or 4th attempt I´m getting a new wu.Maybe I´m just lucky or I´m assigned to a different server which isn´t in that bad condition. Hope they get back to work at Stanford soon and feed the servers with more work or give them a good kick to restart

Same here. After each WU it's finished it's spent several minutes idly waiting for one, but usually gets on within an hour.

What flags are you using with your client? If you're not using -advmethods you might want to add that to improve your chances of getting work. You should also make sure you have the latest client version and a passkey. From what I have read on foldingforum.org there is a shortage of A3's at the moment, but an even worse shortage of A1's, which you may be running with notfred's older versions.

I just realized that I am running a wu but it won't register in hfm, I have stopped the wu's and restarted the system but it still won't be recognized. I do have one gpu wu on my 260 but my gtx 250 can't get anything. When I looked at Real Temp I noticed the temp was at 51 and the cpu was at 98% usage.

LOL since I can't get any SMP's working I decided to run 4 of the regular windows clients on my i7 for now taking only 50% of the cpu usage (I could do up to 8 if I wanted) doing the piddly little point units, it will only give me about 1200 - 1400 PPD extra but hey its better than nothing. right now I'm totalling about 12- 13K with my i7, AMD X2, 8800 GTS, GTX 260 put together. I know its not very productive but at least it's something. I wish I had a faster card to replace the 8800 GTS... that would help too.
