Why not just get an emulator? Somewhere I have every game I have ever owned on NES, SNES and Atari 2600 on a disk somewhere. The cool thing about an emulator is you can just push a button and save/reload where you left off. No more of those old school stupid passcodes or only 3 lives and that's it crap.

I think that there are a lot of old Nintendo fans and hipsters who would want to own one just to own one. I think this is a good plan on Nintendo's part to make a profit selling this cheap hardware to a niche market.

Funny, I have been noticing a surge of Nintendo systems on Craigslist for ungodly amounts of money as well as some new "cool" hang out spots and bars with the old Arcade systems. Even with the graphics and having to blow on the cartridges and punch the Nintendo in the mouth sometimes to get it to work, some of my best childhood memories were in front of a Nintendo. Playing the very first Metal Gear before the story went all weird was epic as well as the first time I saw that gold Zelda cartridge my mom bought.

With that being said, I can see why someone would want to try and cash in on nostalgia. But since all hipsters should die and Nintendo was already on it's last leg, I wouldn't support this even if I didn't have all the games already.

I remember my oldest son just about lived on the old NES console . Every day after school , there he was . He's 30 now & I mentioned to him if he would like one maybe for Christmas , he couldn't say "hell yea" fast enough . Guess I'll be getting 2 (one for me of course) .

Last leg? Hahahahahahaha. You do realize that Nintendo has enough money to survive at least 3 or 4 failed consoles in a row, right?

I would vouch for that. They are part owners to Pokémon, and look what's going on right now with that? Yeah... Talk about a money maker.

Didn't they have 3 or 4 failed consoles in a row already?  Yeah, I forgot about this whole Pokemon Go crap. At least it is getting people outside, but maybe those types of people would be better off staying inside...

Why not just make an emulator. Gut out an old NES system if you really want to have the hipster/classic vibe and run a raspberry pi build. Here's one way...

Cheaper and your not limited to one system and 30 games or whatever. I have an old netbook that I used to use for all my emulators and it had crap specs. I imagine Ubuntu probably could run all of them too.

Might end up making a pi build emulator system out of it, if it's not easy to add more games to it.  It's only like $60.

I wished that Adventure Island and Super Dodgeball was also included.

But honestly, that is a pretty sweet lineup!

You can get the same thing with a Raspberry Pi and have ALL of the Nintendo games on there for the same price or cheaper

yea ok, and the sky is what bright red, while suddenly humans breath CO2 and exhale oxygen?

Old games are some of the best games. They had used to focus on such things as

    Tell a story
Not have game breaking bugs on release day
Not have DLC on release day
The easy setting back then would equal hard today
    The games had heart

Modern games ship out like cheap Chinese knockoffs, low quality, very little time spent polishing, and no heart, because the Dev's are driven like slaves.
